A Fellow Community Member has requested for me to create a low Calorie Dessert Recipe for her and I will fulfill her wish. If any one else wants to give me suggestions or has requests, please post below.

Rena's(Me) Greek Frozen Yogurt Sunday Special

Please Note you will need a ice cream maker for this. It is possible to make a different way and I will share that under request but this way takes a lot longer.

What you Need

  1. Quarter Cup of Fresh Lemon Juice
  2. 3 Cups of Low Fat plain Greek Yogurt
  3. 1 Cup of Splenda(0 Calories)
  4. 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  5. 1/8th of a tea spoon of salt
  6. 8 Fresh Strawberries that are sliced into 8ths and 24 Blueberries
  7. Honey
  8. Granola

Directions

  1. In a Large mixing bowl, Lightly mix the Lemon Juice, The Greek Yogurt, The Splenda, The Vanilla Extract and the salt for 45 seconds.

  2. Run this mixture through the ice cream machine according to the manufactures directions. You should get a creamy mixture that is not watery but not too thick. At this time, pour the mixture into a clean large bowl and mix the fruit in. You can use different fruit other than what I have listed. Feel free to post here for requests on different fruit and I can tell you the quantity I would recommend. Then Freeze this mixture for 3 hours. This should get you 32 OZ of Frozen Greek Yogurt. I would suggest 4 OZ as serving size but feel free to adjust as needed. I some times eat a lot more than 4 OZ so don't feel bad if you want more.

  3. You can Eat this alone or you can top with Fresh Granola and Honey. Also feel free to top with fresh Mint for a refreshing taste.

Calories

4 OZ of the Frozen Yogurt is 80 Calories 1 OZ Low Fat Granola is 100 Calories(Optional) 1 Table Spoon of Organic Honey is 25 Calories(Optional) 1 Table Spoon of Mint is 1 Calorie(Optional)

That looks really good and I love Greek yogurt. How do I make this without an ice cream freezer? I've done ice cream without a freezer before, but that required heavy whipping cream and tons of high calorie stuffs.
