Taking Away Your Favorite Champ is Riot's Business Model

Just bc it makes money does not mean it is a good way of doing business. What it shows is, it's money over everything. And all of you going along with it without questioning intent, or ignorant enough to not weigh the other side are the products of such a philosophy. You all have been manipulated by Riot's marketing, and fooled by your own stupidity if you think this is how things should be done.

The first step towards becoming wiser, is adopting each champ up for rework as your favorite champ, whether it is or not, bc it surely is for 1000s of people. If you are successful in doing this, and you should be, you begin to realize how it is unsustainable. A lot of new players are not joining. So say for 20 scheduled reworks on average 5000 people that play don't like it (obviously using random numbers), this basically amounts to LoL slowly killing itself for small sugar rushes. The sugar rushes being already established players switching the champ they play, and maybe buying a skin. As is quite clear that is unhealthy.

Say a FIFA established a F2P monopoly, and since it isn't releasing a new game would forcibly take your best ultimate team cards away or delete your save file, that was your pride and joy, bc of league licensing as rosters change? Sounds ridiculous bc it is ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as deleting or reworking a solidly functioning champ that already exist. When you have to resort to treating some customers poorly intentionally bc you want to keep your defined and established market position, means it is time for a sequel.

As this industry at its present size and importance is new, there are no best practices established. But the best and brightest, the ones that lead positive change, do the right thing regardless, and do not need to be told. Even fighting games only add fighters with DLC, when it is time to change the roster that already exist, when the market is right, they release a sequel. Say you have 100 gamers who play ACME Fighters, and your business model is to screw over 5 a month so 25 of the remaining 95 temporarily play a little more. That is a model that treats people poorly and is unsustainable, a textbook Catch-22. This community needs to smarten up. The main thing is, excited as you might be, take awhile to think about the other side. It is not about being smart, it's about being wise. And Riot is clearly lacking wisdom. It would make everything better if everyone was for positive changes only. LoL is immensely fun and can have success without committing to projects that have tangible downsides. Greed is not good.

tl;dr read the post and sry for any typos
