what is the drop rate of gemstones?

so far every event that riot has said that Gemstone drops are gonna be increased i have given it a shot at going for some gemstones. i buy multiple of the items that are supposed to drop them only to get not even 1 or even any of the other things they put into the "chances of getting" things. how much money are they trying to get for 1 gemstone? the chances seem so low it feels like there really is no point in trying for gemstones anymore at this point.

the loot system is meh for me because i own every champ and don't care about mastery but constantly get champ shards over even icon shards. and the only skins i really want is hextech annie. i would be willing to try for hextech annie and the gemstones if it wasn't for the fact the drop rate is so low it feels like a waste of money every time i even give it a chance.

just knowing the drop rate would be enough so that i can just know to give up on gemstones. i'm not the kind of person that does nor likes loot crate systems much but i wanted to give hextech annie a chance and it seems like the loot crates in league are just as bad as most which is pretty sad. like i get that there is a chance to get random skin shards and junk. but i own every champ that's a lot of skins i will never use that basically are gonna end up a waste of money.

Bruh, I haven't had a single gemstone in any chest i've ever opened. I convinced my friend to start playing league this past summer and he has already opened six gemstones. I don't understand the algorithm.

Gemstone drop rate is very low because Riot wants you to buy tons of chests to get Hextech Annie and the other special skins. I remember seeing a video where some guy spent over $200 trying to get all the gemstones for Hextech Annie. And Riot never says how much the droprate is increased -- it could be a 0.01% increase for all we know (okay, I'm sure it's not because Riot isn't that terrible). The idea is to get more people to buy more chests to have more chances of getting gems. It's a basic marketing plan to increase sales and profit.

Honestly, I would give up on gemstones. It's not worth unless you're dropping at least a hundred bucks on a skin.

I only managed to recently double my Gemstones due to the BE Shop.

My latest Gemstone before these last 3 was from a Worlds Orb.

I believe the drop rate is close to 4% and after 49 boxes without a gem, you are guaranteed 1 on box 50 in that sequence. so if after 5 you get one the counter restarts.

I've had 3 gemstones - all through chest drops after games, not buying them - and cashed in two of them because I never thought I'd be able to get enough for Hextech Annie. But now I see that you can get Neo-PAX Sivir for cheaper, so I'm gonna wait for that.

I know the frustration your feeling. I have all the champs also, so buying the chests are kinda pointless for me. By playing the missions and earning chests through the mastery system I've found 7 gemstones, but it takes forever to get one. I would like to know the drop rate as well, but I wouldn't personally be able to recommend you buy more chests. On the bright side, so many skin shards drop I get the new champs free.
