in all honesty that was beautiful and i must say thank you for the amazing video on this day. it was so visually pleasing to the eyes just wow.

Remember, there's more to the story; look up Amumu's lore and you'll see a story told by some old guy named Khaldun.
LANWhale2 votesWell not really, if you read the lore of Ammumu before it got uh changed it was exactly the same. The only real difference in that his I guess updated? lore is that he was actually a king. Which don't get me wrong is great it helps a bit to know who he was in his former life but doesn't really add to Ammumu's character or anything.

Caharin3 votesA few patches ago, Riot decided to scrap the old lore.
The old lore said that The Institute of War was created to bring peace to Runeterra. Powerfull mages known as Summoner's were called in to the Institute of War to help do these matches. We as players were the summoners. Lee Sin also was a summoner, but he got ahead of himself and summoned a boy from a village. The boy he summoned got torn apart by the spell and the feedback of the spell acted as a bomb and destroyed the village, therefore he became a monk. Before the Insitute of War was founded by Reginald Ashram, Noxus (Darius, Kata, Draven) invaded Ionia (Yi, Irelia, Udyr, Karma) and LEe Sin set himself on fire for two weeks (making him blind)
But yeah, they scrapped the idea of Summoners and the Institute of War because every new champion needed a reason to join the League of Legends, why on earth would Gnar and Rek'Sai join there?! Why would Azir, and emperor, fight for some lowly mages?! Questions like that makes each new champion more challenging to make, and therefore the League of Legends was removed etc. to make room for a new lore. So LEague of Legends is basically just a name paying homage to the old days now.
Sharjo4 votesI'd assume that friendship is one that will be "explored in the future" since I don't remember there ever being any canon about them being friends aside from their champ pages listing each other.
I like the idea of Annie's fire being able to almost burn through the curse to get to Amumu, so she can give him a warm hug.
Fay S0ff1 votesIt was canon, actually. There's an old Journal of Justice article where hey interview Annie about her friendship with Amumu. Not sure if you can find the JoJ anywhere anymore, but it was a thing until they turned Amumu into a dead yordle.
GreenLore1 votesSince they are still referred as friends on the official page(which usually does take into account some future retcons,I mean it listed basically all the connections among the shuriman champs before the event) I guess they are or rather will become friends eventually.
I think that since amumus main motivation is finding friends that he might meet up with annie at a later start in the story,it might even mean the end for that part of his story(assuming there comes another one afterwards at all,but I'd also like to know more about the origin of the curse)

No new lore info from the lyrics but the (gorgeous) visuals suggest that he's wandered out of the Shurima, through the Twisted Treeline of the Shadow Isles, close to Bilgewater, into the Glade, and finally what looks like possibly Bandle City (doorways are child size)? But there's nothing to corroborate my guesses.
Perhaps the upcoming promotions/vids/whatever will explain more but I'm not holding my breath.
Daughter of Nox2 votesIt was really, really sad. Even as I write this, tears are welling up in my eyelids. It is just so sad, and I feel like most people can relate to that sort of feeling of loneliness because we have all felt it at one point or another.
Aside from that, I feel like it is also a political statement about all of the recent school shootings we have had in America. Maybe I am over-analyzing, but that is how I interpreted it, and it just made it so much more powerful than it already was.

Using "cause" as a closing sentence is also a lazy/uncreative writing. This only made the song cringeworthy. :/

I think we should keep in mind that Riot is a game developing studio. They're not musicians. This is something extra, that they didn't have to do, but chose to for whatever reason.
Problem is, that Riot always tell us that they invest quadrazillion years to release something as they don't spare no efforts, and also have bragged about their team diversity to make a functional game, e.g, audio team, sfx, programming, lore (kek), software development, marketing, etc.
Writing lyrics is in a similar sense to fashion, subjective but needs common sense.
