Great $$ Idea for Riot

So, over the past couple of seasons a lot of the changes have led me to believe that Riot has been pretty intentionally and pretty significantly catering changes towards the casual player base.

So here is my idea for them to make money so that they don't have to worry so much about losing some players.

Exclusive cosmetics available only to Plat and higher players that still cost RP.

Boom, problem solved.

Edit: I'm not saying we should remove purchasable cosmetics for casuals. I'm saying in addition to their regularly scheduled skins and their annual victorious and worlds team skins, Riot should also release a couple purchasable skins, ward skins, and emotes that are purchasable with RP and unlocked with rank. No removal of content or buying power for casuals, just a little added buyable content for the higher echelon.

That's a ~~terrible~~ great idea. It's not like the Bronze/Silver/Gold tier players make up 89.72% of League's playerbase across all regions... in fact, it's such a ~~ terrible~~ great idea that I'm sure loads of these players will be ~~extremely angry~~ overjoyed and show ~~absolutely zero~~ full support towards this change. They'd feel so ~~put-down~~ happy that they'd ~~quit~~ find a renewed interest in League.

All sarcasm aside, I'd say this would be a great way to kill a lot of their players and their income. If 90% of the players can't buy items in the shop because they are rank specific, that would cut into a lot of money that could have been made if it were open to all. Might seem like a great idea, but the negatives far outweigh the positives. If Riot wants to reward the higher ranked players, there is already the end-of-season rewards.

This is the opposite of a great money idea.

If you're minimizing the amount of your customers that can actually buy your product, how do you expect to make a lot of money from it?

It only makes sense from a business perspective to allow as many people to buy it as possible.

There's a reason every paid skin nowadays is available to everyone, regardless of rank.

Dude there are far better ways that don't involve disenfranchising 90% of players and wasting sales opportunities.
