I am playing it on Tactician classic and getting destroyed. Ever since i got outside of fort joy I am getting obliterated in most combat. I keep stumbling upon combat and getting crushed. Maybe i should go back into fort joy to get more stuff... But man is it hard... Also I had my collar removed like a dummy

You are gonna die a lot, and don't be afraid to cheese the system hard as fuck.

level necromancy on rogues. Shit is honestly broken, i had lohse running around bursting people while being tanky as shit thanks to boneplating and the sustain it gives.

aside from that summoning is pretty strong too, especially the lil fucker that turns into a champion at 10 summoning, bone widow is pretty good too but necromancy.

Just play on the standard difficulty (classic according to my settings), it's hard enough and you can just play however you like, no need to min max or follow strats made by someone else. You actually get to play the game for fun.

I'd also advise to sell and buy on 1 character as you can invest in barter on them and ignore it on others. And buy every resurrection scroll you see, at first you'll be scrapping for gold to get em but they end up quite cheap later on.

ALWAYS check the enemies resistances. The amount of times i've been bamboozled by that shit. The joy of having a fire mage vs a bunch of fire resistant skeletons.

I'd recommend not starting out on Tactician difficulty, as it's the Hard difficulty.

Yeah, do not play on tactician for your first run, the game will smack your ass around like theres no tomorow. Restart the game on normal and be patient, the game is quite complex and requires you to understand alot if its mechanics. So take it slow and read all the tooltips and such. If you want an easy way to learn/play the game for your first time, I would recommend going with two charakters only and picking the lonewolf trait for both.

You propably need to read up on op builds and party compositions if your realy want to beat tactician right now.

Fextralife has some nice tips for the early game. They also have a build guides which should give you an idea of how to spec your heroes.

I assume you're playing with a full party? Since it is possible to do it solo, think about how you would go about winning fights solo and then apply those tactics to your full team. Terrain is one of the most important things in combat, manipulating it with effects (or boxes) and using the teleport skill you get early will be crucial.

I'd do everything in the early area before you gain access to the fort. After the fort there's a few easier routes, helping Gareth at the castle by sneaking around other mobs or going to the seeker camp by sticking close to shore will give you some easier fights to bring up your xp. Remember you can flee fights, which means you can pick of an enemy, flee and come back for another.

Dome of protection is also OP early, if you have a non-origin character.
