You think that after a f***ing school shooting people would have more respect, you know? But alas, League of Legends just corrupts that respect.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not berating LOL, but the community man! It's so toxic and I'll keep saying it and saying it.

My Heimerdinger wanted me to invade, but I didn't because it was an enemy Rengar jungle versus me, and he would obviously start that side. So me as a Kha'Zix started at MY red jungle, and Rengar appeared where the Heim was. Rengar took the red with smite, and the first insult was spewed out. "idiot."

I simply had a bad game. I tried to say that but I continued to get flamed. I was trying to be nice and reason with the Heimerdinger when I just thought of how dumb the entire thing was. I live in the US, a country that just had some horrible events drilled into it's history books. And I thought:

You think that after a f***ing school shooting people would have more respect, you know?

But a small break from the game won't change the fact, that, League of Legends just corrupts that respect.

Meh, the cycle of life and death will continue. Tragedy will continue, If we let every little shooting, hurricane, murder, etc get to us we would all just live in this world filled with fear. We are put on this earth of the understanding that we will all die, we can't stop death and it can and will come at any time. We simply can only live our lives as we see fit for as long as we can before death strikes.

I'm not saying what happens when young people who don't deserve to die yet is good or not sad, but to fixuate on it to me seems ridiculous, and then comparing real life events as a school shooting to a online video game that most people use to get away from the world is asinine in itself.

I'm not saying you deserve to be flamed or whatever, but to cry about it based on things we have no control over outside in the real world is imo dumb. Play the game and enjoy it while it lasts, live your life and enjoy it while it lasts, don't let others or certain circumstances bring you down.

Wait. I get the flaming is bad but where is this being respectful after a school shooting is coming from? Its a school shooting, if you werent in it or knew no one from it then it doesnt effect you. The shooting in Florida had no effect on me and I continued with my days like nothing even happened with no more "respect" than when I saw it.

I don't understand the connection between school shootings and playing poorly/toxicity in League. This thread seems like troll-bait but it could just be a whacky premise that I'm missing. So I'll give it a serious response I guess...

People die every day, tragedies happen every hour of every day around the world, to highlight one as a reason for people to not be assholes is silly. Sure, it's a nice sentiment that we should be nicer as a people, but it's completely unrealistic. Just learn to dismiss them, mute them and move on.
