Too much money wasted on fashion ... i would rate your build 6-7 out of 10.

-CPU: Ryzen 1xxx got an uproar due to their Price/performance ratio. But the last gen Intel cutted on the price and the MOBO got a lot cheaper. On the same price range you could have aimed at a better processor.

  • RAM: May God forgive you. WIth a limit of 3466MHz you picked an overpriced 3000MHz RAM with a 15 CL. Luckly you didn't go for an Intel that prefer lower latency
  • MOBO: Overpriced AF. There are a lot of cheaper solution with better performance.
  • RX580 8GB gess you found a good deal on this or i see no reason to chose it over a 1070Ti
  • 850W are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for that build.
  • Like the case ... it got a good airflow

Overkill.

Well done, except you skimping in the graphics card.

Not many applications utilize that Ryzen 7 2700 CPU.

I would have bought a lesser Ryzen CPU

And invested in a 1070 or 1080.

But that's just personal preference.

Well done.

Also which panel? 1080, 1440p? Is this just for gaming?

The Ryzen 7 2700k according to the benchmarks is one of the best gaming chips on the market.

I haven't bought AMD processors in like 10 years.... The benchmarks and reviews on the Ryzen and Threadrippers changed my mind though because they are actually good chips.

Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming Motherboard

My motherboard was a "gaming motherboard" by ASRock, a company owned by Asus, and I've had no end of issues with it. ASRock/Asus motherboards were the only motherboards I ran into that were actually rejecting my SSD - like the SSD ran as slow as an HDD with them. The problem was more pronounced on the ASRock motherboards, but still, I cringe.

My motherboard also throttled my Ethernet by default, hasn't been consistent at booting past the BIOS, and has given me some USB issues. I'm going to be avoiding ASRock/Asus motherboards for my desktops from now on.

Seagate Barracuda 4TB HD (No solid state yet.)

In my opinion, a SSD is one of the best components you can have in your computer. Your computer is going to feel like a slug until you take care of that.

The rest of it looks OK, no particular feedback one way or the other. What games are you looking forward to playing on it?
