I'm sensing a pattern here....
The passes are required to get "exclusive" prestige skins that go away. Christmas themed chromas are "exclusive" to bundles, better get them before the holidays end. not to mention the sheer number of "exclusive" skins slowly being worked back into other systems, making them a different kind of exclusive.
Te way i see it it's less about the costs and time and all that (those are still issues tho don't get me wrong" and more the fact Riot is above all else leaning into the"exclusivity" model of business IE abusing the psychological impulse of "I have to get this NOW or I might not EVER!!!!" and frankly, thats the lowest of lows in these kinda F2P but pay to look cool games. Shit like victorious skins and event shit aside cause that was handled fine, this prestgie and golden chromas and all this other nonsense is whats REALLY shitty. Like there's counterpoints and all that and nothing about this is illegal, it just shows what everyone suspected from the day Riot sold out to E$port$ crowd, that Riot will let any aspect of gameplay go down he drain as long as profits never dip. So they combined fortnites missions shit with their already in place "exclusive" models of skins and just, went with it.
and nothing ill ever stop it i know, but man it sucks because this game would be the CHAMP of multiplayer games if they cared just a bit more about fans over cash, but telling any business not to care about money is treated as basically speaking in fart noises. Sad.
