Are promos just set up to make you fail or something?

I honestly dont see a point in having to play x amount of games just to get to 100LP and having to win 2-3 more games just to promote. Its like whenever I get to promos I dont even want to touch the game anymore because I know its going to be an autoloss due to someone being autofilled, someone thats already tilted beyond belief, a troll, etc.. I know teams like that can happen at any time but it seems most prevelant in promo games. I shouldnt have to work 3x harder to net a win as well as sacrifice my first unborn child, my arm, and pinky toe. I just want to get to s3 darn it.
