Guys. The mute button. Use it.

I see at least 9 boards posts per day from people saying about how they got unfairly banned for responding to toxicity in chat. Just use the mute button the second the other guy(s) starts being a jerk. You won't have to see their messages in chat, and you don't get banned for someone else's BS. It's a win-win! I mean seriously, the devs put it there for this exact reason.

One player being toxic doesn't excuse your toxic behavior.

On a related note, players who suggest the mute button is an excuse to be a jackass deserve their bans.

EDIT: Seriously? I'm down voted for saying there's no excuse for toxic behavior?

U have to be unhinged to get chat restricted or banned tho. I tell someone they are a braindead idiot at least once a game and i never get banned. Just know the limit. Riots cool if u tell someone to fuck off just dont repeat it all game

Sounds logical, too bad I had a personal experience where I got chat restricted for an extra 200 games after I had literally not said a word in game and muted everyone.

Riot chat restricted me for 20 games so I decided not to say anything and just mute everyone until it was over and when it was done they gave me like 30 more, then 20 more, then like 80 more, then 100. or something like that. It was awhile ago but I even straight up streamed the last set and had videos (they're gone now) where the system would send me warnings for verbal harassment and offensive language in games where I LITERALLY DIDN'T SAY A WORD.

Muting people takes too much effort :^)

It is how I handled toxins in Ranked though. Mute all and disable all chat. Less tilting that way

People would rather tattletail than actually take their own preventative measures. Same goes for people who report for words covered in the profanity filter. If you can't handle the bad words why did you turn off the filter in the first place? I've asked that question to at least 50 people who cried report over something I've said - not a single one of them has had an answer for my question. Some people like to be cradled and taken care of by their superiors, in this case players rather have daddy Riot spank the bad the player. The reporter then feels like they made riot proud by bringing such a bad soul into the light for Riot to punish. It's hilarious and pathetic.

On a side note, who cares about bans or perma-bans when we all know riot is too greedy to permaban by IP. You can just keep coming back, with more and more vengeance.

Ironically those same people will say "wow why was I banned for being toxic? Just mute me you snowflake!"

OP's advice needs to be heard by more people.
