From what I can piece together:
Interviews / "hit piece" journalism released of institutionalized sexism and bizarre culture at Riot (from top to bottom)
Actual people affected by it report things
These actions are against ToS = making homophobic or sexist comments can get you banned, why not fired?
As a result, Riot posted about how they're going to try super hard to be inclusive, introducing a new panel at a convention that's very exclusive (that is to say, no men allowed for the first three hours - where they would be accepting resume's and shit from people who are not men)
DZK went off on reddit and twitter about how everybody is trash, toxic, and childish for reacting to this turn of events - many rioters backed his OUTLANDISH comments on twitter, despite the fact that a large majority of the people who play this game are the target of his broadly derisive comments (men)
The sea lion thing comes from a comic (http://wondermark.com/1k62) wherein an obnoxious sea lion character is attempting to goad other people into an argument - one that they don't even want to have - when the first person says they don't like sea lions, the sea lion then continues to follow them around bothering them from dusk till dawn so-called politely querying and wanting to have a polite discourse regarding why he doesn't like sea lions, but in reality is just being a rabble rouser - thus proving, yes, sea lions really are a pain in the ass. DZK was claiming that anybody who took a position of difference on this issue was just trolling, not actually a legitimate concerned citizen, regardless of who they were.

Someone told men they can't just do whatever they wanted so they've all shit their pants pretending it's unfair.
that's also not far from the truth either, though
