When League Finally Ends, What Will Happen To Runeterra?

Now I'm not saying League is dying, or that it's going to any time soon, but like all things, it will eventually die off, and when that day comes, what will happen to the wonderful world and characters that are left behind?

I myself have stopped playing the game entirely, and have actually moved on to other games, mainly Overwatch, but I still find myself visiting the League website and Surrender@20 for one specific reason; the Lore. Not being dramatic at all when I say this, I've fallen in love with the world they've spent years creating. With every lore update comes new wonders and depth to the characters, with Janna's lore update still being my favorite to this day, and I'm not ashamed to say her short story was so good I was actually brought to tears. When this game finally dies, will the world just die with it, will all the characters simply be forgotten, the entirety of League lost to the wasteland of information that is the internet?

I don't really have like a whole point or anything, I'm just genuinely worried about what will happen to the characters and world we've grown to love and enjoy once League ends.
