Janna's Lore

A few months ago, I started playing Janna and now I just can't stop. She's my second most played champion and I love everything about her except one thing: her lore kind of sucks. To be honest, it's not that it sucks it's just that it's really cliché. I mean, her whole story is that she was a poor orphan girl from Zaun who found she had magical powers and moved to Piltover. It's the same story that's used for hundred of other characters, they just changed a few things to fit her character. So I was wondering, what with the new universe page and all the lore updates, if they could possibly update Janna's lore.

Now about her backstory, yes it's cliché and I can live with that, but maybe just flesh it out some. On her page it says that she's from Zaun but she's has no friends or rivals or even enemies from Zaun. Her only friend is Lux and they don't have any in game interactions or even lore interactions. She's an empty character. Some champions who could so obviously be her enemies would be Mundo and Singed since her thing is that she wants to make Zaun this great place like Piltover. I did read the new lore for Orianna and it made me realize that them being friends would make some sense lore wise. In Orianna's new lore, she contracted a lung disease when she went down to help people in Zaun. It wouldn't be to farfetched for her to have met Janna, a healer, who could have also been helping the same people. Another way they could have met, with Janna being this great healer that she is, it would also be lore friendly to have had Orianna's father, Corvin, hire Janna to see is she could heal his daughter. It would also make some sense for Janna to be somewhat friends with Vi since both of them originate from Zaun and have moved to Piltover, albeit for different reasons.

Now about actually fleshing out her backstory. Maybe just write a short story about how exactly she found her arcane potential or about what it was like for her to go to Piltover for the first time and be above ground. Another short story idea is just one about her having what she considers a regular day in Piltover for her. My only other idea left is her just thinking about all her decisions and her trying to figure out weather or not she regrets moving to Piltover. Janna has always had a untouchable, mysterious type of vibe going for her so you could always work from that angle.

My final note is that maybe you increase the amount of voice lines she has, nothing drastic though. She only has 2 jokes when most champions have 3 now, she has no in game interactions with any other champions. All she has is a few voice lines for when she moves and when she attacks, that's it. Give her something to say whenever she walks by an air dragon or when she see's somebody from Zaun and Piltover, not for every Zaunite and Piltovan champion though. Like, when she see's Vi, she could say something like, "It's nice to see a familiar face", or when she see's Ekko she can say, "You remind me so much of myself when I was a child." Then when she see's a Mundo or Singed, depending on if they're on her team or not, she can say her most badass line EVER, "Bend with the wind or be broken by it." Seriously though, that is her most badass line, it's a shame she doesn't say it in game. Maybe whenever she walks by Orianna, regardless of team affiliation, she could say something like, "I'm so sorry I couldn't help you." Also, this is just me being a nerd, but maybe give her something to say when ever she walks by an ally Yasuo please. They're my favorite League shipping, right after Zed x Syndra.
