What have you done Riot?

Yup, Riot is so tunnel visioned on combat and cutting out any parts of the game that don't involve direct confrontation, that they are actively removing win conditions and the robust variety of strategies to get to there.

It's kind of sad. Just because games like Fortnight and other battle royale/pvp games are emphasizing short matches with super straight forward goals...does not mean LOL should emulate what they are doing. It's a totally different game.

Riot needs to remember that they got as big as they are now by being best in class, not by trying to compete with other genres. Lol was never really designed to fit the desires of the 15 minute win or lose casuals who just want to get to the fighting then move on to the next match. It was built for players who wanted to learn and implement the intricacies of mechanics, matchup, vision, item builds, macro, wave control, rotations, etc. Pulling back from those things to emphasize combat more is actively deconstructing the game and resulting in the severe backlash from the player base we see today.

What happened to control style jungling? What happened to poke comps? What happened to set up and siege comps? What happened to being able to evade combat and outplay a mid game deficit with better macro/rotations? What about those on the edge of your seat mid to late game baron dances that you knew could fully go either way? (technically these kind of exist but the game is so snowbally it's not a fight, it's 99% of the time one team setting up a bait and the other team trying to steal knowing full well they can't take the fight head on) What happened to supports being to low key carry the game simply because they were really focused on clearing and setting up vision?

Give me back my game!
