So that those who want to try a champ before buying, can. Will help new players too who don't have 90% of the roster and want to decide what to get

Yes. Not being able to test in the testing mode seems crazy to me.

Yes, I know what it is called. But really it is the testing mode for most people.

We also cover the map in bushes, and try to murder the invincible dummies.

I think in this case two at a time is fine, even if it's limited to 2-3 players per game, to me personally practice mode feels almost useless without a second player, and I love trying out things in this game, but now that they finally added this I've already done so much of that in custom games that the practice tool isn't that useful anymore :/.

I mean I have had a bit of fun with it, no mana cost or cd on azir and just flying across the map, you know that basic stuff :P but it hasn't been useful to me yet.

TLDR: I think these two things are definitely needed to make practice mode actually useful.

I've used it to practice LeeSin 's kick/flash, Yasuo 's e/q/flash, and Azir 's Shurima Shuffle. I think it could def help with some of the other aspects of the game, such as orb walking, some cs'ing techniques, and some other things. Newer players and lower elo players should take advantage of this tool and learn their champion's tricks.

Look at thia guy using the Practice tool to actually practice mechanics, while im sitting over here trying to jungle all the supports.

Update: Jungle Soraka, not ideal.

I soraka jungle once in Normal Draft. Their top lane akali, she told me stop making a new meta after I ganked her pretty hard that she fell behind.

Apart from Yasuo since I don't really play that champ I've already spent a lot of hours doing those things in custom games, sure it is nice for new and lower elo players and also for people who have already mastered these things to make sure they can still do it after taking a break from a certain champ. But I don't think the practice tool is anywhere near as useful as it could be if they just added at least 2 players per game. While there are a lot of things you can do with it, there are still a lot of things you can not do with it.

And for me so far, anything I've wanted to try out since it's release requires 2 players.

They only shipped it with the basics, so it's possible they'll add invitations for others, ect over time.

I feel riot doesnt allow you to invite other players because I feel you could break the game really easily

Can we have are target dummy as a real champ and buy items for it so we can see how much damage we do vs a champ with tank items and see how anti tank items will handle vs it. Also be good to see how % to HP items/skills are vs champs with normal HP not 10k hp.

Target Dummy for each role! XD I wanna see a full team of Target Dummies

What Riot should do is let you test out every champion in the game in Practice Mode, as well as test out skins you're thinking of buying; this way, you don't get something like Masked Shaco and then get in-game and it looks like crap; it would also prevent newbs from buying outdated legendary skins that are in no way on par with the shit that comes out now.

Laughing Fish2 votes

Yeah, that would be great. That is one of my favorite features of Smite, is that in practice mode you can test out any god.

Amasa Delano2 votes

We already have free champs through the free champ rotation. My understanding was that the purpose of the free champion rotation was to help new players decide what champions they want to buy, by giving them the chance to try out new champions they might not own.

Shad0wDeath1 votes

It's not just about new players. When you have an idea of a play with a champion, and want to test if it works, it'd be nice to be able to open practice tool and try it out rather than waiting months and years for the champ to appear in free rotation. One might not remember the idea while it's on free rotation, or one might miss a week of free rotation due to being on a vacation sickness etc. Free rotation is not the answer for not being able to "test" champions in a testing tool.

ltmetal2 votes

For bonus points, they could also unlock all skins on the practice room. It would certainly make them more money than it would cost.

Parallelity1 votes

no it wouldn't, because if you buy a skin you dont like, then theres anothe chance for you to buy another skin for that champion because you didnt like the first.

ViciousSummoner2 votes

Just play for like 3 years you'll have all the champs by then.

youll die from cancer or go insane by then

ignore the twitch streamers they actually get a person to play the game for them while they pretend they are playing so that they dont get cancer

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/41Yv3XzI-shouldnt-practice-tools-be-allowed-for-unowned-champions-as-well

I literally made this thread first with the exact same topic, and I didn't get a single attention.

What the actual fuck

abdul5692 votes

That's a shame. I guess it was because no one knew about practice mode so didn't care. Also the boards are quite volatile, get an upvote first and you're hot, get a downvote first, and your thread is sent to the abyss :/

dark100dark1001 votes

It is needed since sometimes you don't want to buy a champion just learn how to counter it. It is easy to loose a game when you don't understand what your opponent does. First game against a newly released champion is always awful.

DarkSunSovereign1 votes

Thing is, if you do this, and you add the option to invite other people, it'll become "Play whatever champ u want with friends for free". Not against that myself, but I can see Rito might be.

DJMason881 votes

But they wouldn't allow playing against other players in practice mode, so unless you want to play a bot game with friends than i doubt it would matter.

Saelon1 votes

I don't already know why this isn't the case, a part of me believes in Riot and thinks they will do it but another part of me thinks that Riot is so cheap that they aren't going to.

Elisheva1 votes

They'd potentially lose a small amount of money with this. Probably wont happen.

Omg that would be amazing
