I thought so too until I played the match up. Got an early kill but after she hit three she just cc chains me for a sec getting a couple autos in and jumps out. His Q is not nearly fast enough to catch up to her.

I found that in matchups where the enemies play hit and run like that, I max Q instead of E, since you don't expect to be able to catch them in your E anyway.

Not sure if they changed something recently, but E did way more damage than Q when I was playing Garen, if you could get the full duration off. But Yasuo Fizz Riven Fiora and pretty much every mobile top laner laugh at your attempt to spin them so a maxed E is not worth even with the huge damage difference. To add insult to injury, they can also jump right back in after your spin ends to start hitting you while you have to run away.

The solution? Play like them and hit and run with a levelled Q

are any typical non ranged top laners good against her? Honestly curious im just a humble bronzie don't know a ton about matchups, especially top lane since im support. The few times I've messed around up there she's destroyed me with the above combo tho.

Old maokai. (idk about the new one tho) darius can be but there are specific power windows that riven wins. (level 3 is 1) renekton is good against riven. Naut is hell to play against. Some tanky champs are pretty good but get bullied a bit early. Malphite and cho gath are two of them. But once they get enough bulk they cant be dove and just farm under tower. They can't ever really 1v1 her tho.

I haven't ever played against galio or gragas but I don't feel they would be that good. Galio does a ton of damage but riven is damn slippery so. I am not really sure who would win in those matchups.

What about fiora though? She counters yasuo has true damage always and is good early AND late game. Your guyss points are valid but the nerfs coming for yasuo will make him even harder to play early game.

If you are good at riven, she takes him out. Shoots him. And then drags his corpse to the river and dumps it. But if you aren't good it's just the other way but worse.
