@meddler do you guys plan to compensate any champ for rylais?

All mages will be hit. It's a fact. And that's what you guys want. However the problem lies that some champions, like AurelionSol and other ones who Rylais is CORE on will be hit fairly hard. The play-rate for some of these champs like Sol and Morde is already abysmal and you guys are gonna be furthering it.

Unless you compensate the champs where it was core on them. This is where my question comes in. Will you guys be compensating those champs where Rylais is core on them? Will you at the very least be monitoring them?

Lemme explain myself why Aurelion sol deserves some compensation.

It all lies in his W-Celestial Expansion. This skill is his main damager and also his main booper. Do you realize how easy it is to counter this skill though? The slow on Rylais being applied all the time was what made it easier to keep hitting the enemies. With the slow being reduced, not only will it be harder (albeit not very much though), but also it'll be easier for the enemies to turn the fight around.

Will it completely gut him? Probably not. But it will hit him. How hard idk cause I haven't tested it (even if I had, not like 1 game'd make a difference to riot). But half the slow seems like a big enough amount. He may be a celestial dragon, but even he has vulnerabilities. This happens to be one of them.

I'm pretty sure they will, just not preemptively.

Riot isn't going to Assume that champion x is nerfed just because the item get's nerfed. Rather, the watch the win rate intently to confirm that such champion actually got hurt, and actually needed the buffs. They also do it this way because they don't know by how much. And if they buff them now, they will never know what the original results would have looked like. (Basically, Riot tries to avoid changing too many variables at one.)

I'm thinking that too. I guess if they make any buffs at all, it'll be today or next week. If not....I fear for my champion ;-;

That may not be a good idea.

Remember when they "compensated" Viegar for removal of Deathfire Grasp?

No more like how dare they nerf an item THAT much when its core on some champs without compensating them.

Imagine only having 10% or even 5% lifesteal on item 3072 Or only having +25% armor penetration on item 3036

Or lets go to tanks

Imagine having 25 MR and 350 health on item 3065 Or having 300 health and 40 armor on item 3143

Have I made my point? If not let me elaborate more.

I am not complaining that mages themselves are getting weaker. Thats what Riot intended. I'm complaining-or more wondering why-that certain mages where this item is essential in order to be good/viable/played are not getting any compensation buffs. Some mages are getting _too _ weak with this item nerf.

Have I made my point now? If you still don't understand then someone else can try explaining.

Its only core because its so broken. In previous seasons its was always first item then red hat then void staff

This won't change anything. Assassins will still be banned out.

Orianna will be hit pretty hard too. Although the slow isn't a must on her the AP reduction along side with the HP will hit hard. As Ori you must have full AP other than maybe one defensive item and Rylais helped with this a lot whereas now if she builds say Ludens she'll have no HP but if she builds rylais she'll lack in AP and will even lack a bit in HP

I don't feel like she'd actually be one of the mages hit harder than others. You say the slow isn't a must but she needs the AP and health. Have you tried a RoA on her? Or the ice belt (I forget its name lol thats how much I use it)? Both would satisfy the need and you could try to negate the early-game RoA by just stalling the game. Its what mages do best lol.

I know Morde and Sol are hit hard because they need to keep up with their opponents to keep consistent damage. Orianna has a speed boost, a slow, and a shield. Morde doesn't have the speed boost or the slow and Sol doesn't have the slow or the shield.

However I don't main Ori so what do I know lmao.

Turns out that it wasn't too hard of a hit :P just needs better positioning Also RoA and the hextech item (I'm presuming) is viable but in many cases isn't optimal.
