While we're thinking about buffing bruisers and opening up bot to melee carries,

I'd like to remind you that Jax doesn't really have an ultimate.

The passive THWOMP is great. It's iconic and should stay.

That said, "gain some armor and MR for a while" is lackluster to say the least.

Lackluster?

MasterYi . Move faster

Singed . Move faster (with armor + magic resist)

Sivir Team moves faster

Teemo . Plant fungus

Zilean Point + click anti-oof

Tryndamere . Don't die

MasterYi Move faster, attack faster, cannot be slowed, and get resets on everything. It's a very strong steroid.

Singed Move faster, get tankier, regenerate, do more damage. Seeing as Singed is a tank who relies on being faster than his enemies, it's exactly what he needs.

Sivir You seriously think a Cho'gath, Olaf, Shyvanna, Vladimir, or Warwick running at you 60% faster is lackluster?

Teemo These little shits do a lot of damage and give lots of map control. Lackluster is not accurate here.

Zilean You seriously think a Guardian Angel on a 60 second CD is lackluster?

Meanwhile, Jax gets half of a Singed ult.

But singed's MR and armor dont scale with his AD and AP while giving every third attack bonus damage.

But if we're gonna go deeper and get into how well it synergies with other abilities or comps, jax's 3 hit ult passive is great with his passive, while allowing him to dodge as he pulls up to you with his increased stats

  1. Singed ult gives regen, speed, and damage on top of defense.
  2. Jax itemizes for attack speed and on-hit effects over bonus AD, and AP Jax is irrelevant outside URF, so the ratio on it is neither here nor there.
  3. The passive on his ult is fine. The active may be somewhat powerful, but it's still the least satisfying steroid in the game (competing Molten Shield and Fury of the Dragonborn)

It's hardly the most lackluster of abilities.

And the extra defenses open him up to options besides assassinating people.

For what it's worth I agree with you OP, it's kind of stupid that people chose to nit-pick you instead of discuss Jax as a whole.
