I watched the video whole way through but... I'm still hesitant to think these are for the better.
Now, I know, what does a lowly Silver 2 Garen player like me know in comparison to Riste, the pretty-well Exemplar of Garen? If I could test them in person, on the PBE (But I don't have a PBE account) and see them in action, perhaps my viewpoint will change. But as it currently stands, I'm not a fan.
why does riot always rework garen when he is good? does anyone else notice this?
they never rework him when he is a bad champion and the weakest in the game. they only pay attention when he gets better over time with enough buffs. garen is the best at the moment he has ever been. he is even picked in pro at the moment and then there are garen mains in challenger. this has been unheared of in all of his time.

Well I'm excited to see Garen being able to proc Conq with his E.
They should have enabled it from the start and considering how hard Garen falls off late game I can see Conqueror's helping him with that.
I for one am excited. One of the main reasons I don't like playing Garen is the RNG involved with him. I think giving Garen more agency is a great idea.
I don't plan on watching the video, but in all, it just means Garen won't be locked to top lane anymore.
As a Garen main, unless they completely rework his kit, he will never be competitively viable. The game is too focused on mobility and CC; champs that can quick react and get out of danger or use the mobility to chase enemies down quickly.
That being said, I still enjoyed playing Garen all this time, and that's why I play him. He's fun. I just feel all these efforts and shuffling ability traits and tweaking numbers is simply a waste of time and effort overall. Every time they did this, he still doesn't see's competitive play.
I'm completely indifferent overall, because it will me little difference in the end.
Ult change is good. You shouldn't be punished for doing well.
