I have nothing to work towards

I have no goals. I have no reason to play the game.

Every since you took away the end of season borders ( the one that carries on towards the next year ) I see no motivation to want to hit higher ranks, if its just gonna be reset.

There is no end game to this game. Nothing of value to give meaning to a win. It's just "play for fun" which I do, but where is the progression system in the game.

I don't really care about end of season rewards. I literally just hit gold and stay there until the end of the season.

And it's cool that your adding eternals, but if they are gonna be For RP only. I cannot afford it. Even if its only 2$ a piece, I don't have the money to play the game. Thats why I play leauge, because it was free. If I am gonna have to spend money on a game, I would just buy and play Cyberpunk 2077.

My point is Riot. What value are you trying to add to league. Mastery 7, and Level doesn't really cut it. It only shows how long you have been playing, not what you have earned while playing.

I know there have always been rumors about appealing to the casual players of league. But honestly, if you wanna attract new players / casuals veterans/ or tryhards. All you need to do is add some sort of meaningful progression system.

Have you tried getting a job? Those offer a nice sense of progression without any fun being required.

I wouldn't expect a progression system. It's been a decade and the closest we've gotten is champion mastery, which is extremely shallow. If I were you, I'd take this as a prime excuse to find a new game and get out before it sucks you back in. If you must continue playing, though, I've found that turning life bars off has enriched my experience immensely. It's been a whole new level of challenge for the past few months.

"meaningfull progression system" like what? this ain't no rpg where you level a character.

No progression here will be meaningfull nor will any other moba have that without tying your character to a permanent level which i doubt is gonna go well.

they could unlock mastery level completely and let ppl go to 100. and what would the meaning behind it be?

if you don't care for ranked or playing for fun, then what's the point of playing? the borders? those were all that kept you in? and now that you get em immediatly as you reach a rank the progress is somehow gone? You don't care for the actual rewards nor about proving your skill/getting better by climbing. this doesn't make sense to me, seems like you never really had a goal to begin with.

So you mean that you were only playing so you can show off ?

Maybe that's the problem. I dont see how a few bites on a server can make the difference between you finding a purpose in playing and not having a purpose. sorry but i'm really puzzled.

If something is bothering you about LoL, make suggestions to improve it. If the core gameplay doesn't appeal to you (anymore), go do something you enjoy instead. Asking for something to grind while you don't have fun is the wrong direction to go.

this is actually kind of thing that made this game appealing in the first place

IMHO, the game genres have gone through interesting phases. After the MASSIVE wave of MMO games, people were sick of games that required half a year just to "start playing." They also usually required monthly payments. Genres like MOBA exploded because people were like "I just pick a thing, play it for 30 minutes, and if i don't like it... I just pick something else?" That's alluring. Except, then it became incredibly straining dealing with these ass holes and the "NO IM MID FK U" and the flaming and the whining... here comes a genre called ROYALE. No classes, no prep, fuck teammates, get in, kill things, get out, do it again. It was a massive hit. Except, then it became straining to deal with the lag, hit reg, lack of development, cheating...

Even account level isn't a good indicator of progress. The second Riot decided not to retroactively give out XP for past seasons, the system became worthless. I don't even want the BE from the old levels I would've earned, just the XP for bragging rights. In other games with infinite leveling, seeing a high level is like "Oh shit, this guy plays a lot that's cool." Where's on League it's like "Well, this dude's level 700 but it could be XP boosters, and this dude is level 90 but he could be in the 1000s if XP before season 8 counted." Just frustrating to see something that could've been cool rendered useless.

but you know league is designed as a game where the only progression should be your own skills? League takes it as "improving is fun", and considering how big league is, i'd say the system works.

Also btw, if you're a f2p player in f2p game, you're a a part of the content

What other "progression" do you need? There are XP-Level, Rank and Champion mastery already. Rank is soft-reset so the higher you are at the end, the higher is your starting point next season, and level/mastery don't reset at all.

Have you obtained chests on all the champs that you play?

Beacon Academy10/15/2019, 12:28:34 PM1 votes

I haven't had a reason to play since 6.9 when they changed Malzahar.

I decided to devote two years learning a champ that looked like he would never get touched as he received 0 nerfs for 5 or so years till deathfire touch got pool nerfed by 2%

Then mass class updates happened and I realized no champion was safe after Riot made some BS excuse about how old Malz was "toxic" even though no one really complained about him and those that did were shut up fast on the old forums due to the existence of QSS paired with Malzahar's lack of safety features :/

Fun fact: I started playing league June 1st 2014, which was apparently Malzahar's birthday (June 1st 2010) :3
