League feels boring at this very moment
I thought the new runes would be fun. But games feel so one sided its kinda dragging me down. Also I don't feel great about winning. Anyone else feel this way?

YES! I am so bored with this preseason. Losing feels hopeless and winning doesn't feel challenging. I hope they fix things soon.

Sorry for replying on a month old thread but you comment basically sums up what makes the game so boring right now especially playing a lot of games. The game is so repetitive right now, it's either win really hard and it's super easy or try your hardest and still lose. The snowball is just getting more insane and I wish there was more ways to come back from games.
It's like why am I playing when the game is either not challenging and I just snowball and win or impossible to win because you lost lane or someone fed and you are just getting run over.
i do. lots of champs just do too much dmg early and then snowball insanely. cant come back and cant gank cause they slaughter me too
What kills me about this is when someone is laning against someone and the opponent has a kill/gold/item/xp lead the ones that are trailing insist on fighting. As in trying to take out the person that is already kicking their butt. I don't see how they don't understand the self-fulfilling prophecy concept, but they don't and end up digging themselves in a ridiculous hole that later on ends up affecting the entire team.

Nope. This is the most fun game has been for the past 2 years. Balance is surprisingly not terrible everything considered and new runes make the game much more interesting.
The same problems exist though, such as the clear balancing bias towards ADCs, tanks doing far too much damage for how tanky they are (ahem fuck Cho'gath), games being too short and no other gamemodes being available on a constant basis apart from ARAM.
At this point, I wonder if they will every get around to fixing Twisted tree line. Cause it seems like every season, the rift adds more problems than solved lol
I feel like the game snowballs way more than it used to. Like that early advantage means you win now.

Not if you're an assassin ;^)
If you're an assassin you'll still get screwed over by that 0/5 ADC since they scale insanely well and you have delayed damage.
Sure, for the preseason assassins are great, but just you wait, they'll be unviable in like 3 patches....
I actually found myself asking a friend why we were playing this game over something else just yesterday. It just kind of came out of my mouth and I had to stop and consider why I had said it, and I recalled the moment it all started to turn.
Played a losing matchup on a smurf account, Garen vs Teemo. Slow lane, already boring enough to sit back and get pushed around for a while. Came out of the lane up 3/0 and decent CS. Prior to preseason this was usually the time to start pushing into the enemy jungle to get some shallow vision, look for other lanes to punish or help with objectives as I continue to slowly scale.
Enemy team was barreling into the bottom lane inhibitor turret. Our bottom lane wasn't even 'feeding.' Sure, they were behind, but I've come out of lane with worse scores and won. Inhib went down, game ended at about 16 minutes. Utter helplessness. I can't imagine Teemo felt accomplished at all in the victory, considering he and I never actually left our lanes.
I can agree with you on this one. I honestly passed on many of my friends inviting me to play today because I'm not even excited. Sure the runes are fun and all but the overall outcome after winning or losing a game just feels ambivalent.

You realize the game has been this way since its inception.
Yeah, games are far more one-sided than in the last season. Good job :'D
Main problem is games are too short. 7 out of the 11 PvP games I've played since the new rune system was released have been <30 minutes. But yeah, games feel... odd. It's very snowbally which is a style I don't like. So Im'often just... there, really. Not feeding, not winning, but not feeling like I'm influencing the outcome or flow of the game either.
I'm a Leona one trick... and it is SO boring.
Tank runes > my enemy is dead level 2 AD runes > my enemy is dead level 2 I got poked hard > my enemy is dead level 2 my house is on fire > my enemy is dead level 2
The team with the most won lanes wins. Unless there's an epic throw, (which, when your team is 30 kills ahead, they like to do).
I did have fun figuring out my AD leona runes and my secret Jhin runes, though. I mean the runes are fun if you don't mind doing math XD

epic throw is the worst.
i feel that this game screws you over much :D somehow lv 10 unlocks draft mode but i cant play it
Usually when I play the game, the climb aspect makes me excited. Tho new runes are here, and im courious, but winning doesnt seem that much fun because it feels like im not gaining anything with it. Sure,we get LP but our end of the season rank is already locked, and thus winning doesnt seem to present growth ( or climb, cause ranks are soon to reset) but just a win as it is normal game. As of losing, noone likes it anyway xd
To conclude, the most fun about this preseason is learning about new runes, but it isnt connected with winning and losing as much, therefor winning might seem less amusing in preseason.
Well in case you weren't aware, even when you win in pre season - yeah your rank is locked, but your rank and your MMR aren't exactly the same.
Your MMR will help determine what rank you belong in once you finish your placement matches after preseason is over and the official season arrives. There's still a benefit to winning and still a negative when you lose in preseason.
Think of it like this, although you're not losing or gaining LP, you're now increasing or lowering your MMR.
Not really lol I'm just having fun with bruisers now.
I logged in just to upvote this.
As someone who doesn't particularly frequent the boards or reddit, I came to the conclusion on my own that the games were far too snowbally and are ending too quickly and came here to see why. The damage is too high or the defensive numbers are too low--I'm not a balance-r, I can only state how I feel. And it doesn't feel good to play--there is no skill expression in the small, intense moments of the game. No outplays because the damage ratio is too high and leaves too little room for what I respected most about the players around me. (I'm not even irritated about the BE thing, my gripe is purely the game being unplayable.)
As someone who went from playing 10-12 games a day for several years, I'm down to throwing one or two to get my first win bonus and then leave because its not fun here. I'm just waiting to see if they can actually fix this terrible feeling or not by the start of season.
inb4 some idiot makes the "it's nostalgia" comment.
Game is fun when you can turn it around with good fights hitting spells and dodging the right moments, not who has the biggest snowball is the winner.
Yea a lot of people feel this way.
Luckily I don't though. Stick to it and you'll figure it out, not as bad as many would have you believe.
Not sure if it's just preseason or what, but the number of people I've had quitting, or playing psuedo-troll picks, or just playing terribly is super high. My matches haven't felt good in large part because it almost always feels like a 4v5.
