Worried about the ekko q nerf

his q was perfectly fine, why nerf the ratio of the initial damage into nothingness? 10% AP scaling? Mundo's w have more power than ekko's q initial damage. just stand next to them for 2-3 seconds and you out damage it. yes it has the return journey, but that's incredibly easy to dodge. if you want to nerf him, just remove his w passive. it's excessive and unnecessary anyways.

Yea, his Q is fine. They have run into a problem, though. The champ is simply too overloaded. He can do anything. THEN, he still has a shit ton of damage in his kit. They make these overloaded kits and they are either too strong or too weak. I mean, look at Yasuo. He is so bullshit that he has to be nerfed into oblivion numbers wise in order to not be Op as fuk.

You mean...they fixed his shield and tuned down his E stacking? That's what passes for "nerfed to oblivion" these days?

I hate Yasuo as much as the next guy, but he is pretty shitty now lol.

he isn't really overloaded imo. sure he can do anything, but not all at once, with 1 build. he may be strong, but he has very strong counterplay to counteract that.

I consider 3 slows, a movespeed buff, an AoE stun, a blink, a dash, % missing health, and a re-position that can still do crazy damage pretty overloaded.

you're going entirely off numbers and ideal power. realistically, he isn't really that powerful

LaceUp232 votes

No, realistically he has a shit ton of utility and still can do a lot of damage. Great combo.

he CAN do a ton of damage, and he has a lot of POTENTIAL utility, but all of his abilities are incredibly projected and he as a champion thusly has a lot of counterplay. he only wrecks teams if they let him.

The first part of his Q isn't really about damage. It is the stacks and the return part of his Q that the damage is supposed to come from.

even if it isn't about dealing a bunch of damage, now it deals basically no damage. it wouldn't annoy me at all if the second damage weren't so easy to dodge.

Well learning how to hit the return part is what separate the Good Ekko and the Great Ekko

I Main Swain1 votes

there's only so much that learning can do. im not saying it's impossible to make it hit them by any means, im just saying that it's difficult enough for it to be a fairly rare occurrence against someone who knows how his q works.

His kit isn't overloaded, and compared to other champs, neither is Lee Sin. They're just champions who Riot and the community don't like.

We need to keep his Identity As an Utility Assassin. Nerfing his AoE Waveclear damage. Better balances him around his Single target damage, which is what an Assassin needs. Also consider that his Q stacks his passive. Both his Q and passive are fine as is but OP when Combined. Also the 10% AP is only the forward damage while doing the same damage on the return, making the whole ability only have a 10% total reduction in AP Scaling. Not to mention that nerfing his Waveclear will directly effect how fast he can get farm.

And it's not Really fair to say his Q is easy to Dodge. While you can try to Juke the return of his Q, Ekko can also manipulate the turn direction of his Return. Similar to an Ahri or Sivir Q.

keep in mind that since he's an assassin he should have heavy burst, and his q passive and e are his only really reliable damage abilities. it makes sense for them to be powerful. that aside, I don't see why they couldn't remove the 10% from it on the way back instead.

honestly, I would say its fair to say his q is easy to dodge on the way back. you really just have to walk to the side, and he can only manipulate the direction a little bit unless he's at point blank range. honestly, even just walking straight away is often enough to keep from getting hit twice (depending on where along the line you got hit).
