(My opinion) We've reworked Gangplank into a corner that only has 1 mediocre solution

Gangplank has an arguably healthy design that has a simple to understand mechanics that are difficult to master, yet are quite rewarding to do so. Too rewarding. If played by some guy who's done 5-15 games as him, he might go 6/5 on average or something along those lines. To someone who has achieved level 5 mastery or something along those lines, he's entirely unstoppable. We've made Gangplank too rewarding to skilled players, and the only feasible solution that I see is that we have him join the ranks of Singed, Shaco, and Anivia. Champions that although have simple kits, require large amounts of skill to be used successfully and not just feed. Other than a complete rework, the only other 2 options are let him remain as a nightmare in the competitive scene, or nerf him to join Singed and the crew.

anivia doesnt really require a lot of skill to play effectively, she has both sustained and burst damage that when combined makes her one of the best damage dealing champions in the game

i played her twice when she was free and in both games i dealt the most damage to champions, had least deaths, most kills, and got triple kills both games

I don't think GP's kit is really the problem, it's just numbers. He's simply doing too much damage to certain kinds of champs a bit too often. I think his design is fantastic with great counterplay options outside of his Ult which might be better if he could only use it up to 3 screens away (not globally to keep him from changing bot lane without leaving top at all). This would push him into a mid lane against those who can stun or assassinate him and out of top where he can largely ignore a large percentage of the champs played.

Gangplank will still be incredibly powerful even after the nerfs.

His kit has such absurd potential damage, escape and global presence that they'd need to utterly gut everything before he was unviable.

I think krepo said during world's thst gangplank has no weakness and when you look at his kit I kinda agree on paper there's not really something that's exploitable about him, he's a essentially melee hyper carry/burst mage hybrid with a free QSS and accelerated gold scaling, on top of global pressure, the only thing that could keep gangplank down is if they absolutely destroyed his numbers like they did old gangplank

More nerfs!

Only GP's barrels are a problem and they're gutting gp cause of it, I would be happier if they added back 100 base damage to Q and just reworked barrels into a new skill.

The only thing that's really off about him is his scaling. He just turns into this late game monster even if he gets shut down in lane because he can get a ton of gold through parlay and he scales so well. If they tone down that scaling a bit he should be fine.
