Lethality sucks.

I get why you guys nerfed Armor Penetration. I really do. Marksmen, as always, abused it and got it nerfed. Just like they did with Sterak's Gage and Maw of Malmortius. I don't get why you won't make items like Youmuu's Ghostblade, Duskblade of Draktharr, Sterak's Gage, and Maw of Malmortius melee-only, but anyway, that's in the past.

So okay, you've nerfed Armor Pen. It's done. That sucks, but okay. But wasn't it the point of Armor Penetration to be better than Critical Strike Chance for the mid game but worse for the late game? Right now, the way Lethality works makes it strictly worse than Critical Strike Chance for both mid AND late.

I feel like Lethality needs some small buffs. Not enough to make them broken on Marksmen again, but enough so that buying a +15 Lethality item doesn't feel like shit the moment someone buys a Cloth Armor. This is not hyperbole. Right now, 300 gold can completely negate all of that Lethality and still have some armor leftover for most of the game, because Lethality has to ramp up with the target's level. Not your level, the TARGET's level.

Basically, Lethality punishes you for doing well and being ahead, and is quite easily countered because of the ramp up.

I think an additional 5 Lethality to the Lethality items can really help balance them out without making them OP. Either that, or an additional 5 AD.

PS. I know I'm gonna get downvoted to hell for this because the boards hates anything that might buff Bruisers/Assassins even the slightest bit so, uhhh... nerf Yasuo?

This has been my experience so far. And it's disappointing.

Basically, it seems it's only useful to stack lethality runes/items/masteries if you're dealing with a target that has no armor items and no armor buffs, so you can negate their natural armor values. But that's all you can really do with it. Once they build a single armor item you start to question if you would have been better off just going for a last dominak regards and higher damage/crit items.

I've decided it's not worth building lethality on Talon. He use to be a hero you wanted to stack as much armorpen on as possible, because it would powerspike your ability to delete squishies early, but it wasn't that useful late game once everyone had armor.

You don't really "need" all that lethality to kill a squishy champ, but taking all that is going to gimp your ability to threaten moderately armored bruisers.

If, however, you itemize differently, you can given even tanks pause - while still being able to kill squishies quickly.

So why in the world would you want to specialize only in going after unarmored targets, when all the ADC has to do is buy one strong piece of armor to screw up your entire expensive plan of three lethality items and full lethality runes?
