aren't Azir's and Yasuo's Lanes a bit strong?
Given their scaling...?
Given their scaling...?
Late game champions in general are too strong early. Since all champions have similar stats early, one small slip up can cost you the game if you give a kill to the wrong carry. It's not like Orianna's early game is bad, for example, and she is one of the hardest scaling mages.

There are many late game champions
who are actually weak early game, like they should be since they are late game champions, therefore they are balanced.
The problem is that many late game champions currently do not give up as much of their power during the early game and the way their kit currently works allows them to snowball very hard. The same does not happen with the aforementioned champions - which can still snowball, but they still require time to allow them to scale well.
Also Orianna isnt really a lategame champion. Few mages are. Her passive doesnt mean she becomes Kogmaw, mind you.
Vlad has one of the best early games. How can you possibly thing it is weak? Vlad always does well early if he has common sense unless his opponent is Renekton and can come out ahead in trades.

Vladimir's early game is absolutely shit, except against - guess what - Poppy and Akali. Every other champion can potentially win against him in lane, or at least survive. Vladimir's early game is only strong against Poppy and Akali, and that's because they are melee, Poppy lacks sustain and Akali has poor sustain early, and both of them have no way to all-in Vlad.
Also, Vladimir has some champions who can absolutely dumpster on him in lane. For example, Riven, Fizz, and Xin Zhao.
Then why is Vlad considered a very good counter to Nasus if Vlad's early game is that weak? Would Nasus just be able to free farm in that case? The fact Vlad directly counters Nasus and can shut him down completely is proof that Vlad has a strong early game.
Vlad is bad early game against anyone that can actually trade. His only useful early game ability is on a fairly long cooldown; he only 'wins' trades if he can Q someone and then back off before they can respond (like Nasus.)
Against anyone that can fight back, he has a bad early game.
Literally all Vlad has to do is sit back and farm if he somehow found a way to die. If you are facing one of the few champs who can actually win trades against Vlad, all Vlad has to do is sit back and farm from range with an ability that provides more healing than renekton Q.

Vlad isn't that good against Nasus to be honest. I main Vlad and I can say, it is hard to deny Nasus' farm when he can just use Flask + 3 pots and has passive lifesteal. Then he returns with a
and it is impossible to do damage to him at all at this point.
When going against Nasus, I actually prefer to use
since he can CC Nasus, eat him and still do massive damage against him (because it is percentage) and can waveclear if Nasus tries to splitpush.
Vlad really isn't that weak early. He is often played top lane against a melee champion where he can just spam q on cooldown to poke while healing himself and just pool away when ganked/engaged on. He can't all in well, or hold his own against long range champions early game, but he can still bully most melees and survive against most others. The other 4 you listed are much more easily punished and zoned from cs.
Azir is only strong when played with caution, if you burn your mana in the early lane phase your in for a bad time. As for yasuo, well he's yasuo
yes, but any decent azir holds a soldier to dash to if he is unaware of the enemies' whereabouts.
he can spam W which easily shoves waves while having a negligible effect on his mana. His main risk is if he misuses Q, but often after killing the casters or melee minions with 3 aa's, he can get a Q and free aa (which can really hurt). Or he can just not use Q, and save it for when his opponent goes aggressive. GL with that trade
basically just don't spam Q, and he can build a CS lead by shoving waves and backing off afterwards. E keeps him safe as long as he isn't super extended without vision. then, even if he goes even, he out scales most opponents
and guess what both have in common...they can easily push you in without really spending ressources on it.
Please don't nerf Azir anymore. Please.
Yasuo has a bad laning phase against most champions
Akali, remember that on G+B you can only say that yasuo needs nerfs and lux needs buffs, any other opinion is blasphemy
Did you miss the ''Lux OP'' yolotrain of a month ago? Also most persons know Yasuo doesnt need nerfs, he needs a rework to rework away unbalanceable mechanics and reinforce the healthy ones.
Azir's laning is shit considering its been nerfed every other patch.
just no. it's not at all shit. I'm sorry, silver azir's are probably shit, but a competent azir is a huge lane bully against many champions, and in addition he also out scales many of them :/
That's why Meddler himself has already mentioned that Azir has his picture on the wall (alongside Riven) for the balance team on how to balance/rework him to be more even in all tiers.
as it stands in silver and bronze Azir has like the 3rd lowest win rate in mid lane while in master he still breaks 51% i believe. So they cant find a way to raise his win rate for the bottom of the pack without making him a monster for the challengers. They're just finding a way to bring up his skill floor without breaking him through the roof.
same issue with Riven. Her win rate top lane for bronze/silver is like mid 40's while masters once again have her over the 50% mark.
nerf anything and she's dumpstered by everyone. buff anything and she's viable at the bottom and your God in Heaven in Challenger.
their kits are the problem. not enough tuning levers to just "balance" without breaking something.
Plase explain his 40% winrate in Plat+
He said a competent one. Just being plat doesn't mean you're good at Azir by itself. If you look at experienced part of that champion.gg page, you'll see that after 125+ games, he goes to over 52% winrate. At 50-125 he's at 46%.
Experience with the champ itself means more in this case than the rank of the player.
Plase explain his 40% winrate in Plat+
Maybe because he wins 32% of the time with inexperienced players?
Yasuo is a certainlyt champion so..
but about azir, he will get some changes. he is too hard to play for beginners and too strong if mastered. riot said something like that.
If you try and be strong in the laning phase as Azir you're not going to have any mana. Early game Azir is Farm Farm Farm. The only time Azir is forced to do this is when he's against other hypercarries such as Veigar or assassins (Though that gives them a nice initiation opportunity). And mana is really significant to Azir as his escape combo (W Q E) costs 170 mana, so if he misplays and hasn't been managing his mana then that's a free kill.
Yasuo's laning is just flat out binary. Yes, if he counters you he'll have a field day. But if you counter him, then theres NOTHING he can do expect stay under turret and cry. There is literally no middle ground.*
*Speaking between players of equal skill anyway. If there other guy has 100+ games with Yas and it's your 3rd game as Swain, even the heavens wouldn't be able to help you.

My brother was having a super rough lane against a Yasuo once. so I traded lanes with him.
I was playing Darius on the first Juggernaut patch. Needless to say i had him almost crying to me in all chat about how much of a bully i was.
When the game ended he literally said "well. darius looks fun. you've pretty much convinced me to buy him."
It's a good feel when you play your champ well enough that you convince someone else to buy and try them. even from the enemy team.
Here are some mages that factually counter Yasuo in mid lane. In an even matchup, Yas isn't going to be winning lane against these guys.

The more opinionated/skill match up based ones are

Problem is Windwall doesn't last long enough. Literally all Heim has to do is drop his stun on himself when Yas goes in, move away, and redeploy his turrets.
Zyra vastly outpokes Yas early. She can deploy her seeds and plants behind Windwall, and it doesn't stop her ult either. She's just better at zoning than he is. She can farm relatively safely, and Yas doesn't dare to attack her when her E is off cd. For Viktor, its a bit more even. He can't hurt Yas much, but Yas can't outpush Vik, and Vik's Q, W, and Ult make it impossible for Yas to all in him. For Kayle, its almost a complete skill matchup, and really comes down to Kayle's build choices and aggressiveness. She HAS to harass him constantly, otherwise she will lose out.
You'd be surprised, but Yasuo actually gets shit on later, since he's paper, but also early, when you survive his level 2 cheese.
Azir's early-to-late on the other hand is the cancer impersonated. W-AA-Q-AA at level 2 will take down 33-50% of enemy laner's health with little-to-zero room for retaliation, while Azir's mana will barely take a hit. And it only gets worse, because his mana costs are static and his scaling with CDR is absurd.

Azir's mana might only take a little hit from one combo, but if you expect him to do anything he'll need multiple. If you dodge his Q at best he'll get one auto on you. Repeated attempts at poke will really grind his mana, even late game.
Ah, right. I forgot the best way of counterplay is not farming ever.
Let me tell you how it works.
Unless you have mobility with low cooldown and low cost or just as available hard CC.
Idk what these guys are saying about Yasuo's lane phase, but it's all wrong. "dodging" his q? Are you serious? It's nearly instantaneous and in a straight line. The only way you're dodging it is if you get lucky or have a disengage. Statikk Shiv is the first item every Yasuo goes for, once he get's that, you can't dodge it. Low HP pool? Really? Any smart yasuo knows to engage if you poke him to get rid of his passive. I've gone against a ton of yasuos and he is NOT weak, low hp pool or not. He has more hp than Ahri, LeBlanc, Syndra, Lissandra...It goes on. Don't tell me he has a small HP pool when it's higher than most mid laners. Not only that, Wind Wall. Try to engage him and you're done. Period. Waste your spells and then die. The only champion I've ever had an easy time with against him was Morgana, and that was mostly because I had w to help farm and e to stop the knockups.

I have an easy time against Yasuo using

Cho'Gath can only lose at the first three levels, and that's because he doesn't have all of his basic abilities, and Yasuo is really strong at those levels. Then he wins from level 4 onwards. Yasuo just can't outpoke Cho, because of his passive. Yasuo's shield mean nothing because Cho'Gath can easily break it by just auto-attacking a minion while E is toggled. This way, the spikes will break Yasuo's passive. Cho'Gath can deny all of Yasuo's engages because he can silence Yasuo before he can cast his ult.
Fizz can actually win auto-attack trades with Yasuo early, and thanks to his W being a DoT, it can continue to damage Yasuo through his shield. It will be hard for Yasuo to windwall Fizz's ult because a smart Fizz will first stick to Yasuo and only then ult. Fizz has his trollpole to dodge Yasuo's tornado. AP Fizz can win against Yasuo during the early game and will burst him down later. AD Fizz will lose early but will always win later and has the advantage of being less punished for mistakes.
Vladimir's Q is point-click so Yasuo can't dodge it. Yasuo also cannot windwall the damage part, although the windwall will prevent the particle from returning to Vlad, denying his heal. This doesn't make Vladimir worse against Yasuo. Thanks to Vlad's sustain, Yasuo will have a hard time outpoking him. It becomes worse for Yasuo after Vlad gets a Hextech Revolver since then it will be impossible to outpoke Vladimir and Yasuo will lose the lane and will be unable to snowball off Vlad because he can't rush lifesteal.
All of them are solid picks against Yasuo, if you are having a hard time against him, try one of them.
I agree that Yasuo should be reworked, though. Even though he isn't hard to beat or OP, he is simply extremely unfun to play against. Not only that, he snowballs way too easily and isn't working as intended.
Azir was mentioned for a rework(was listed with taric, poppy, etc) during the last Q&A with riot staff if irecall. (it shocked people)
i agree with yasuo's early game being too strong for his late game(as hyper caries shouldnt have a strong early game)
But he was released not a long time ago... And rework already?
Meddler (NA)
Speaking frankly about Cass:
We don't believe Cass is in a good state post rework.
We also don't believe pre-rework Cass was in a good state either.
We would like to do some work (scale unknown, though extremely unlikely to be a full scale rework) on Cass next year.
How that work will be prioritized hasn't been determined yet. There are a number of other projects it'd have to be traded off against on either the Live Gameplay (balance) team or the Champion Update (reworks) team (projects like Ryze, Azir, Taric, Yorick etc).
Even if we do do work on Cass next year I can't offer any promises as to when that might be. Could be some small stuff early in the year and some medium work later, just balance/QoL changes at some indeterminate point, a moderate sized piece of gameplay work late in the year etc.
Nobody expected Azir to be on that list for re-works. but yeah he wasnt released that long ago, but guess he prolly has real balance issue if he is on rework list.
Azir has the second-lowest winrate of any champion in the game (43.2%) http://www.lolking.net/champions He is unbalanced, but he's too weak to further nerf. Yasuo defintely needs a nerf to his oppresive laning phase, (I suggest reduced damage to minions on his q and/or e).
There's a limit to how weak you can make Yasuo's laning, because the moment that he's too weak to be a threat to all in you, he can't farm anymore. That's the price he pays for being a squishy, melee only champion with no escape, no sustain, and no reliable self peel.
All they need to do is replace Wind Wall with another skill more fitting to a melee carry. Right now, it's one of the best support/utility skills in the game and properly using it wins teamfights with ease. So give it to a support and give Yasuo another damage skill or a weaker utility skill. He's already got his shield to mitigate poke and his dash to dodge skillshots. He doesn't need ANOTHER way to shit on laners who rely on ranged attacks or skill shots on top of that. There is a REASON all his counters are people who can ignore or get around wind wall. The skill is THAT strong. It makes him too binary though. Either you can ignore Wind Wall in lane, since which case Yas kinda sucks... or you're vulnerable to it, in which case Yasuo becomes a frustrating pile of cancer that NO ONE wants to fight. Get rid of Wind Wall and Yas will be balanced, less obnoxious to play against, and less of a "must have" pick. As it is now he's seems like he's in every single freaking game!
Fine by me. Then I could win every lane instead of just all the ranged ones. Pls, give me some utility I can actually use against people like Renekton, Garen, Annie, etc.
I just walk the few feet around the wall to hit hm or wait out the wall...
43% winrate and the second lowest winrate in the game would suggest no it isn't.
Azir, no. His early game is horrendous and his only option is to play safe while conserving mana. A good Azir player will just farm, poke you out, and prepare for mid game. He has NO kill potential unless an idiot decides to take all of the free damage or continue to stay in lane with low HP. He is vulnerable to all-in unless his ultimate is up, which allows him to escape. The E shield will only appear if he hits a CHAMPION, which puts him at risk. Azir is the type of champion that is AMAZING when a player knows how to play him effectively, but horrible to beginners.
Yasuo, yes. He has NO mana. He gets a free shield by walking. His windwall can block every projectile in the game except lasers. He has an extremely low ultimate CD. He has a free long range poke that can proc Statik Shiv. He has infinite mobility with his E. He can just click R to win fights and get fed. Yasuo is the definition of oppressive and that's why I dislike him so much.
Yasuo is fine. Azir though...He has too much damage from too much safety with a great disengage and easy escape. Early game it is still possible to bully Azir but it is still difficult to.
What baffles me with yasuo is they didn't put any restrictions on his kit.
How about have the tornado have a cd so he can only launch one every 20 seconds not all the time? How bout give his e charges like akali ult where it can only be used a few times before it goes on cd? How about have his WW only stop 1 spell and then disappear and not everything....?!?!
