(Imho unpopular) opinion: Yasuo's "overloaded" kit is nothing compared to Galio

Besides his stats and theme (which is imho already toxic in the core: a "midlane tank" that autowins every AP matchup - either rapes them or makes them irrelevant as they have 0 chance to snowball because when try to fight him he is absolutely unkillable for them, like what), did you notice how every single one of his abilities:

  1. deals damage
  2. has a CC in it (even Q - let me get to that)
  3. is AoE
  4. has another additional utility effect

Q: Obviously the damage, it's his main damaging spell. No CC you say? That shit deals so much damage you just need to dodge it and the only reliable way to dodge it (because the cast paradigm is so unclear you can basically never tell where it's gonna end up unless there's no other unit around at all) is walking up to Galio - nice way for him to line up his CCs without a chance to miss. The additional utility? The spammability and %HPD in AoE makes for easy waveclear from afar ("10-8s CD and 70-130 mana is not spammable" - It wouldn't be for a normal mage that needs mana for trading - Galio does not).

W: Damage? Check. CC? Check. AoE? Check. Utility? Damage reduction.

E: Damage? Check. CC? Check. AoE? Check. Utility? Mobility - and that dash is not short.

R: This one has even TWO additional effects - I mean, it's an ultimate, but still, most champons don't even have one additional effect like this (of course if their ult also deals damage and has a CC) - btw nothing like Shen's ult would make him a balancing nightmare for years before, let's slap the same thing on another champion! Yes, he can cast it only on an ally, that's why I'm not actually pointing out both of those utilities, but if I had to: a semi-global dash - you are about to kill my ally? Not anymore. You are about to kill me? Not anymore. "Just CC him when he casts it - Galio player would be braindead if he casts it before I use my CC because: 1. Either I don't use it and he just walks away thanks to how tanky he is, or 2. I CC him so he can't walk away, he survives thanks to how tanky he is and then ults away. Choices. You say I can hit the second CC in my kit? Sorry, I'm not playing Galio.

Did we actually see him being in a good spot? He's either broken or you don't see him at all, based on his numbers, no middleground - good design.

Galio is a problem? Ye ... He has already been nerfed and will prob still be looked at due to his massive presence in Esports

Yasuo It's a problematic champ by nature. His kit, while not the most overloaded, it's totally designed to annoy the enemy while exploiting his huge dmg that comes from AD itemization

Btw the comparsion don't make any sense, you compare champ that share ability, presence, itemization or role. What those 2 have in common?

Good you said this, because that makes your whole comment pointless.

They share that their kits have shitton of bullcrap. I used Yasuo because everyone is complaining how he's overloaded and has an answer for every situation. And I said it's nothing compared to Galio's kit.

Galio's repeated nerfs ended up gutting him into non-existence and is pretty much a auto-loss at this point.

Galio has far longer CD (or rather it's Yasuo whose CD is way too short) and actually has a resource management system.

And nothing in Galio's kit is as tilt inducing as Yasuo's Q spam (#1 of Yasuo's design flaw, he was made to emphasise on precision and skill play, but the end result is just the guy who spams like no tomorrow and rely on landing 1 good Q out of sheer inevitability of his insane spam and win) or his W.

Not a single thing you mentioned makes up for the extreme amount of shit Galio's kit is loaded with. And btw boom item 3010 , here goes your resource management.

Not a single thing you mentioned makes up for the extreme amount of shit Galio's kit is loaded with. And btw boom item 3010 , here goes your resource management.

The Q and passive nerfs have gimped his trading and offensive power a lot.

Also, his E holds him back quite a bit. It isn't completely nonexistent like his old E, but it doesn't do much either since it has the "backstep" and the fact it can not go through terrains. It's designed like that so they can encourage more uses in lane and teamfights without giving him ultra mobility, but it still hinders its overall effectiveness and limits a lot of its potential uses.

R is limited too, it has both an ally target limit and a range limit AND a delay ANNND an usually long CD. With team coordination it's still one hell of a spell despite being gated behind numerous conditions and whatnot, but in general play, not that much fanfare.

W is the only spell in his kit that's just all-green good. I wouldn't say Galio at the stage is a problem. There is a reason why he is drifting around 43%-46% in pretty much all of the elos, and at his best elo bracket he doesn't even reach 50%.

........

Also, Catalyst may reduce Galio's resource management, at least it isn't something like Yasuo where not only does he not have any resource management whatsoever, his ""resource"" actively rewards him, and not even like rage and whatever that either gates stuff behind it or they have to work for it, not really, Yasuo just need to walk in circles.

I HATE playing against Galio. He's an incredibly stupid champion ever since his rework. Ridiculous amounts of cc? Check. Good waveclear? Check. Long-range ganks / counterganks that are extremely punishing against melee champions? Check. Tanky? Check. Decent damage? Check.

I much preferred to both play as and against the old Galio.

Yasuo does burst per second on autos, is hyper mobile in teamfights, and has no resource to run out of. Not to mention his ult gets to ridiculous levels of low cooldown in the late game.

Galio should never have been changed the way he was. He should have remained a tank, not this AP bruiser bullshit Riot tried to push on him. The fact that people are able to draw similarities between Galio and Yasuo as a result is just a massive fuck up on Riot's end.
