What is the point of the PBE?

What is the point of the PBE is you don't even use it to work out the bugs before it goes live? 90% of everything you push out screws up the entire game for some period of time. The only exception being releasing things in the shop.

And if the PBE is really THAT different a client from live... WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE THAT PBE?! If you can't actually beta test the innovations you try to make, it serves no purpose. It's just a guess and check calculator at best for when you want to say, "Nah, tanky CC bots need more damage. ADCs are actually kind of still viable."

You would be surprised how many bugs get fixed in PBE before it goes live. If they just shoved stuff out, you would have some really bad bugs literally all of the time. Like an enormous amount of small bugs too. Sure unexpected stuff goes wrong when it goes live, but jesus, it would a million times worse if they never tested anything. There also is a lot less people on PBE so not everything is caught.

I don't know how many PBE accounts riot hands out, but I assume most players are like me, simply trying out the new contents. Not specifically looking for bugs or flaws. A lot of times you don't play it enough to notice certain bugs, and the obvious ones are already posted on the PBE boards.

Solution for ADCs is to add grand vamp scepter http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/EpmIKqEr-grand-vamp-scepter-idea-primarily-for-bt I'm working on a detailed explanation but have so much written already hard to put it all together. Ill probably make a video about it. Pbe should test more things and have more things never make it through to live. Its about testing not an intermediatry holding station for things about to hit live. Feels like its just for streamlining things without properly ironing them out.

I'm about having a more test heavy pbe. I think your saying all the heavy testing should be done in house. I just don't see the point in having a pbe if its just about getting an early taste of the next patch. Give or take slight number changes.

But I get the need to have it too. Heavy testing is done you think you have it right but then you just want to make extra sure before you roll it out into live. thats why pbe is the way it is. makes sense.

I guess i'm calling for an alpha pbe and beta pbe. Things that don't make it past alpha goes to beta.

i guess it sort of goes with what your saying. with two pbes the current pbe would be more about finetuning and ironing out than about experiementing. and the other would be more of a sandbox where in 50% of things don't make it.

ok...on the pbe the new morde skin was locked because of a bug to it that would crash the game if played. if there were no pbe that same bug would make it to live an cause havoc and make people who bought the skin very angry. that is what pbe is for..
