The real reason I hate AD (auto attackers)
I've always preferred roles that required you to think, strategize (google says this isn't a misspelling), and make use of the limited but effective tools at your disposal. Mage and Assassin immediately jumps to mind along with support. These roles have limited options, but with careful planning and some good old physiological warfare you can win anything; atleast that is how it used to be.
This is the age of ADCs, and I'm filled with hatred because at the end of the day they do the most damage, not because the user is crafty or plan-ful, but because the numbers on the champions are off the charts so they do the most damage with almost no thought required. Yes LoL used to be a thinking game, now it all about FLASHY MOVES, and fancy looking skills; It saddens me that the battle of minds takes a backseat for cosmetic and over-tuned abilities. I remember fondly leveling doing normals as this guy
and winning my lane by keeping my foe on their toes, using patterns then changing patterns so they could never expect me. While Veigar was kind of stock in terms of champions being a thinker, served me well and I thrived in such an environment. I wasn't spamming flash or using dash abilities 24/7; I was choosing the RIGHT moment to attack, not before, and not later.
These days its like Pokemon or Rock Paper Scissor; it is not about player ability, it is about "Champion X beats Champion Y, Champion Y beats Champion Z, Champion Z beats Champion X". So when I seem very critical of the auto attack champions, understand I hate what they've done to this game. They've oversimplified the meat of the game (The combat) in exchange for fancy abilities. Not a fair trade if you ask me.
These days my champion Favorites that make me smile because of their complex, both obviously and subtlety, kits that force me to think; to plan, and when I succeed, cheer!

because they take some knowledge and planning like you said. I just don't find ADC to be that fun of a position because it always feels like the same thing. Support can be fun though because those champions actually require a lot of planning ahead. I mean, in no way am I trying to take a way from people who ADC, but I just find the role mundane and boring.
