Why am I fighting Ex-Diamonds and Ex Plats?

So I've never even seen Gold (got to Gold promos ONCE last season), otherwise I just jump around from S2 to S4 and back up.

I started a new account and got to 30 blasting away in Normals. However, about maybe 30 games into that account, I've noticed that EVERY SINGLE god damn game has 2 Plats on average on both teams, 2 Golds, and sometimes 1 Diamond border.

Like WHAT THE HELL??????

Now OBVIOUSLY since its a new account and I am in fact a high Silver, I get that I can have some high KDAs and many consecutive wins, thus jacking up the MMR a bit. However... how is it possible that its been jacked so high up that I'm playing against Golds and Plats every game?????

I don't even see Golds and Plats on this account ranked (my main).

There's something seriously wrong with the match-making. I think I've somehow tricked the game into thinking I'm a low Plat/mid Plat smurf while in actuality I've never seen Gold in my life.

Hey its not hard to play your mains on a new account and then kick some SERIOUS Bronze around. But really? PLATINUM?????

HOW??????

And what can I do about it because as a result, I have NO AGENCY in those games any more. I don't even have to be around; I play Mid and I can't even keep up with how fast these Plats group up and attack. You always have some ridiculous Plat on one team or the other doing these 1 vs 3 plays and by the time I get there its decided.

I don't think the MMRs going to drop either because I can win at least 50% of the time (even though I'm doing nothing, just good enough not to feed and knowledgeable enough to know where to be).

There's been a severe drop in the quality of the games on that account. Its like a bugged version of League where its a total smurf lottery (who has the REAL ex Plats) with all these EXPENSIVE plat/gold borders.

I'm laning against Plat borders half the time like how is this fair?

You probably just have high normals MMR on that account.

When I started climbing on this account, I was playing against silver still when I'm plat/diamond. It took a bunch of normal games to raise my MMR.

Think of it this way. You were in bronze/silver when you started that account at level 1. You smashing everyone made you climb to "normals platinum" lol

Wait so does this mean that if I play Ranked on that account...

I might jump to Gold?????

Or not really.

Is it actually easier to climb on that account then?

Idk try it.

When I made a smurf, I had the same thing happening to me. I got some plats and all golds in my placements.

I know when you first play aram, it looks at what your summoner's rift MMR is and copies that. Pretty sure I heard that in a rioter's podcast or something. I might just be crazy, but I don't think I'm wrong about that. The same might be true for when you 1st play ranked. It might just look at what your normals MMR is.

Generally, its much easier to climb on new accounts. Especially if you go on a winstreak early on, you will have a highly inflated MMR and huge LP gains.

OH SHOOT then I better rush the set up pages for my secondary roll...

I'm over-invested in 4 mids but I can probably play well enough to keep this inflated normals MMR around

It's just a border man. Just play your game, Silver is a melting pot, for whatever reason that is where people start usually when they end in plat the prior season and sometimes even diamond. The diamond is less common and if they are in your game surely they aren't that amazing. But hey statistically speaking you should also get those kind of people on your team and then you should win. Idk man just trying to give you some perspective.

I do win but it sucks because I can't damage-carry any more.

Instead, my contribution becomes limited to... "the Silver that won't die in laning"

The other team's probably losing because their Silver is a true stereotypical Silver, allowing the Plats on my team to take advantage of that.

It becomes less about my ability to damage carry and more about my ability to avoid being Exploited compared to the other "noob."

It leads to a very messed up situation where I gain undeserved Elo and my game quality steadily declines because my participation becomes more reactionary than proactive

Its cause there is less people playing the game

Because nobody plays Normals except diamonds
