Veigar Changes are good

I'm not saying I like it completely, but the fact is, now you aren't expected to use your e as a stun. its supposed to be a zoning tool/disengage, and it works wonderfully in that regard. Double Q stacking is amazing, and the damage nerf to his ult is barely noticeable because of how much more AP that you have earlier on, it works out to about the same damage it feels like(not saying it's exact, but it feels like very similar damage)

Ditto. I said the same thing in the pbe. You can stick with your adc and wall yourself in with him for free peel. Burst anyone who tries to go through the wall. It's too bad you're going to get down voted by mindless sheep.

I know its like we are not allowed to have an opinion on Veigar unless it is their opinion. We like them and still get downvoted because the "opinion" they didnt even form for themselves tells them to hate anyone who disagrees. Me and you deserve to be downvoted because we called everyone out on this fact, the OP just simply stated he liked it and why he liked it saying nothing about other people not liking it, why did they downvote that?

Note to those who downvoted: YOU COMPLAIN RIOT DOESNT LISTEN TO YOU AND YET LOOK AT WHAT YOU DO. YOU SUPPRESS ANY OPINION THAT ISNT YOURS AND CREATE THIS FALSE APPEARANCE THAT EVERYONE AGREES. THIS IS WHY RIOT DOESNT TAKE US SERIOUSLY, ONLY ONE OPINION GETS THROUGH AND ANYTHING ELSE IS DOWNVOTED INTO OBLIVION. FORM YOUR OWN OPINIONS FOR YOURSELF AND STOP MINDLESSLY FOLLOWING WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAYS SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU WANT UPVOTES.

It's called being the minority. The majority of us dislike the new Veigar changes because it took an already barely viable champion and made him 100% unviable in an already heavy mobility meta that hasn't changed in 2 years. So sadly you just have to expect it.

No its called the Majority of board users do not like the changes, not all Veigar players. Also that has nothing to do with the fact that a post like this where the OP is simply stating that he actually liked the Veigar was downvoted for literally no reason... Is it wrong to have an opinion not the same as the "majority"? This is the reason Riot doesnt take seriously, the Majority and Minority are heavily skewed by the upvote/downvote system. One could say only people who hate the new Veigar are posting while the ones who like it are not posting, the few who do post get downvoted out of sight within minutes. How can you reliably say that the majority hates the new Veigar?

Let me reverse this question and ask you the same. How can you reliably say that the majority of Veigar players are enjoying the changes? I typically take what I see and realize that it tells only half the story. But in this situation I see very very very few threads with people saying they enjoy the Veigar changes. And a whole heeping butt ton saying that they dislike them.

On a separate note, just because a thread gets downvoted doesn't mean it disappears into oblivion. Most people will come in and argue their point which leaves the thread open and very much alive. There have been times I've seen threads with 100+ downvotes open and very much alive.

To defend my opinion I played and mained Veigar from the middle/end of season 1 all the way through season 2. And me and most of the people I play with who also enjoyed playing Veigar find this Nerf(Yes this was a nerf btw) to be excessive considering most champions got compensation for the removal of DFG and Veigar got shafted.

I never said that im just saying you shouldnt be so positive you are the majority, merely the majority of people on the boards.

Yea i get that but this guy isnt arguing a point, he is stating a fact that has nothing to do with anyone else. Im not sure why people feel the need to downvote him.

Not everyone sees them as a nerf btw, so you shouldn't say it matter-of-factly, its a nerf to you because it is not what you are use to. It is a buff to me because i feel it helps him more then hurts him (if they remove that stupid cast time, that is kind of ridiculous it has a cast time and a delay). The majority is not always correct, people complained they gutted Nidalee but she is stronger then ever now, people have complained about almost every single change but in the end most of the time they realize they were wrong. All it is going to take is a pro player carrying a game with new Veigar and suddenly they will need to nerf him, this is how it happens most of the time...

The people who don't like the change never played Veigar- the only issues i have right now is the delay being bugged and blink champions-- regardless blink champs are actually a few and i am sure the delay being bugged will be fixed-- bugs aside, Veigar got buffed straight up and you are not a Veigar main if you never realized that Veigar was previously broken, and instead of Riot just nerfing him they actually buffed him, and if they happen to buff him again then they will gut him to oblivion because you should never buff something that doesnt need buffs

Stacona2 votes

As a Veigar main, he got buffed, people need to get used to the changes - all these "veigar mains" that come out talking now were never mains, because a true main knew how broken veigar was and knew something was going to happen- thankfully Veigar got buffed instead of nerfed

He was broken when he was given the chance to be. He was viable if you played against other immobile mages or people who didn't build properly to counter him. As it currently stands his W is an over-glorified farming tool that is only used if an enemy is dumb enough to get stunned or if your team mates can lock down someone for the period of time needed to get a W off.

I would agree that this was a buff if he didn't now have an extremely situational skill that will only work when certain criteria is met. Double farming has grown on me yes, I love the new skillshot Q because of the utility it brings. But his Ultimate nerf was unwarranted, the stun nerf I can kind of understand if they gave him a new W but they didn't. So IMO it's a nerf and most of the masses share my opinion of it being a nerf.

All in all he went from having reliable burst damage that could 100-0 someone the same way assassins do but without the mobility. His burst was healthy because he already had counterplay. I had a Leblanc in my game 2 days ago that threw a massive bitch fit that Veigar was op because she was getting crapped on by the enemy Veigar. So I decided to watch and see what she was doing, turns out she was tower diving him with his stun off CD and when she would die she would scream out all this vitriol about "Thank god that op PoS is getting gutted." Sadly this is the mindset for most of the people who play against him. But I ask that you take a look back in the past 5 years and ask yourself why Veigar never had a nerf and a small QoL change when DFG first got nerfed. Why? Because he was balanced and was extremely farm reliant. Fast forward to today and he basically counters this mobility creep going on because of his stun that was guaranteed if the person was good, and then people come out of the woodwork throwing tantrums like this is some new thing he's doing.

Stacona1 votes

play him like a zoning mage/support instead with e and w - his dark matter is not that hard to land actually especially if they are in his trap there is not many places they can go even if they arent stunned

Veigar never got nerfed because he was low played, he never got buffed because of his previous kit, now with the delay to stun and skill shot to his for his Q he can now get buffed--- sure Riot said "DFG compensation" but to be honest he never needed DFG and he needed a mini rework to him in a better place game play wise - the delay would be a nerf if they didnt lower the cooldown now he has a 2 seconds lower cooldown trap with a 3.75 seconds trap instead of 3 seconds decreasing the downtime by 2.75 seconds between traps

Apparently you can't play it. I prefer the old Veigar by far. but this change is good, it's just a different playstyle, which is exactly what I said

I like them.

See people are having problems because they are using him the exact same way as before. Its their fault for assuming he will play the same when its painfully obvious he cant anymore.

The Q can now farm 2 minions at once or one minion and poke the enemy champions. This is overall better then before, its not hard to hit the Q its got a huge hitbox actually and the double stacking allows you to get huge amounts of AP. My friend had 750 AP at 20min with only Morello's, needless to say he was hitting people really really hard.

The W is better overall too.

The E can no longer be used to instantly 100-0 someone anymore. This is sad i know, but now it has a different use. It is really good for disengaging and zoning, it also works really well against someone with no or limited mobility. Veigar was never good against high mobility targets so i dont understand why people are blowing up about it now... It also really helps with landing the W even without stunning them, if you can place both to force them into taking the damage or the stun then you can still 100-0 them (specially with the ability to gains large amounts of AP).

The R nerfs were probably uncalled for, mostly because double stacking AP isnt ideal 80% of the time. It forces you to push the wave pretty hard and the delay on his Stun does make it difficult when you are ganked.

i like the Q

W is useless, they can buff it but it is pointless if you cant kit anything with it

E change made his kit clunky and extremy easy to get out of. It is a waste of mana to even use

Stephenizgod1 votes

Only if you suck at placement and timing. My friend was having absolutely no problem hitting the E nor the W. The only reason he didnt go extremely positive is because we gave him no peel and he was messing around trying to farm as much AP as possible.

ArkenStorm2 votes

I have to disagree with you on that point. if people are worth their salt they wont get hit by it :P

Stephenizgod1 votes

The same can be said about your placement, if you are good you can place where they have no choice but to get hit by hit.

ArkenStorm1 votes

let me further explain. they won't get stunned by it, but they almost always become trapped in it, which allows you to either escape or harass them more.

Also if you Do want to talk about my rank, I don't play terribly often(only on weekends usually for 2 hours or so), so i don't get many games in. If people actually bothered to look at something other than rank, they would see that I am nearly out of bronze, I was silver 1 last season, nearly gold 5, and I literally have to win one more game to get out, even with a buffer game.

Stephenizgod1 votes

They will get stunned by it, you just need to use it differently like you said. and dont take this the wrong way but i dont care about anyones rank. Your rank doesnt matter unless you are Gold 3 or higher.

ArkenStorm1 votes

well thanks. i think its good that you disregard people's ranks, just because they are ranked relatively low doesn't mean that they don't know anything.

not to mention it now interrupts dashes. yay!

Stephenizgod2 votes

Yea im actually Silver 4 right now and i believe i have quite a bit of knowledge of the game.

ArkenStorm1 votes

thank you. you havent pointed out my CURRENT rank(which honestly barely means anything) and you actually look at how it works. thank you. And not to mention you actually read what I said. I like the old veigar E better, but the new q is wayyy better.

Stephenizgod1 votes

The Q is the only reason i refuse to call this a nerf, the benefits it gives are just too damn good. After watching a few more games on Veigar ive comes to the conclusion that the E would be better if there was no cast time or the delay started right when he cast the ability.

ArkenStorm1 votes

Like I have said elsewhere many many times, I want the same thing. All I'm saying here is that if you look at it in a different light/use it differently, it still works well.

Stephenizgod1 votes

...and i agree with you the E is not a nerf

ArkenStorm1 votes

his q is getting a missile speed buff woot

yay!
