A Request For Cho
Do you see this? His current splash is awesome but his in-game model needs to look like it. Please, for the love of the Void, update Cho'Gath's look so he is worthy of his new splash.

Cho'gath is on the list for a 100% tear down VU as I understand (Ironstylus has talked about it a few times). They are going to wait so they can do it right though since there's potentially a lot of risk to altering his model like they plan. Be patient and it'll happen, and when it does he'll be glorious.
Nope not even close, Riot has a list of what champions they are currently and will be working on in the near future and Cho'Gath is not on that list. Maybe in about 7-10 months times he might get a VU but i don't think it will come sooner than that
That is because he is a 100% tear down. Of course such a huge scale project is low on the list. By tear down, they mean completely new rig and model, and they have voiced the desire to give Cho an evolving model as he gains stacks, which is on par with how Pulsefire ezreal works, so it definitely means he is far out there.
As long as his VU ult removes the enemy champion's corpse if you kill them with Feast then I am all for it
but ironstylus said a year ago ,,we start chogath soon.." , 5 moths ago ,,I hope that sooner than later", a few days ago ,,it isn't our priority now" I look forward to vu cho almost 2 years and such statements terribly disappointing to me :(
poor cho
That's probably because they did START on Cho when they said that. Then realized "Oh, crap. This might take longer than we initially thought with his VU. Especially with everything else going on...... Now we need to figure out what we need to do about this so it doesn't turn out crappy and can be high quality".
I find your use of quotes to be rather bad.
^ this guy also knows what's up!
Now you fools have done it, you brought the arm stealer down upon poor Cho.

glorious ? he's supposed to look like a hideous all-devouring monster
Is that not glorious? Hail the void lords and their superiority.

Is he getting a texture update soon?
It feels like everyone besides
got one in the massive rebalance initiative D:
That initiative is probably not over yet.
Category 5 kaiju please.
Nah, Cho eat category 5s he is more like a 7 (yes that doesn't exist, but Cho breaks the rules when he wants to).
cho is category 10
we need to make him more like his new godzilla splash asap
I remember when I first saw Cho back in season one. I was like.... I've seen this guy...
Oh my god what the hell is that second one?
The demon form of the evil clown in Spawn.
To be specific, he's Violator.
But yea, Cho's old splash made him look EXACTLY like him.
Thanks, totally forgot his name. Only now do I see that it was in the image's file name. XD
Oh, my, wow. Someone that has actually seen the movie Spawn. That is so rare. Here. Take my +1.

Never Forget.
When Cho gets a Visual Update I swear I'll stop using Battlecast so often. It's not that I don't like his original, it's just that Battlecast is amazing. Once he gets a VU though, that skin's going to be actually competing with the rest of his skins.
I really like Cho'gath's concept and kit design, however, unless the rapidly increasing mobility in kits is curbed, it is very unlikely that he will see significant play. His squishy early game combined with fairly mobile top lane bruisers and junglers almost guarantees a death or two before 10 minutes.
Jungle Cho is really pretty good right now, he has strong clear and excellent sustain and once he hits 6 he can hit six stack of jungle mobs ridiculously fast (the cool down vs monsters with max CDR is only 24 seconds, and only 40 at most, so you can max out your stacks in a matter of minutes after getting 6). he does still have a hard time with ganks because most champs can now dash out of his rupture, but if you get Rylai's on him, he can slow with his scream which makes it so they can't dash and they are too slow to dodge well.
I play jungle Cho just for fun. He works with certain comps but any decent player will avoid most of his skill shots. He has the benefit of the current jungle meta discouraging early invade.
Cho'gath's on the level of Sion in terms of a Model update. And considering they're working on other champions who need both a Model AND Kit update that are in far worse positions (Poppy, Urgot, Mordekaiser, and Warwick to name some of the bigger ones.) Cho's pretty low down on that list. Also considering, like others said before, that Cho'gath is a complete Delete and redo as far as Model goes, it's going to be a while before we see Cho get a model update. Until then, I suggest playing as Battle cast Cho, since that's got a different rig then his current one to say the least.
how everyone felt bout night hunter rengar...
Has chogath had a visual update? He looks like how I remember him in beta.
no. he hasn't been touched by the VU team. he's probably gonna be among their least favorite. probably along with taric and generally anyone else with a lot of irregular surface area.
I suspect he should just be remodeled like tristana was rather than try and just improve the textures or update the model. But then ofc they have to redo skins and such im sure it takes awhile >.
Not to mention they are going to try to make his model evolve with each Feast stack and it's a complete tear down. rubs hands together Now my favorite tanky mage can look like a badass...WHILE FED! evil laugh

Taric doesn't have a lot of irregular surfaces, at least not like Cho'gath. Plus, Iron Stylus is already working on remodeling Taric from the ground up. He won't get a full relaunch on the Sion level, but his will be along the lines of Heimerdinger or Tristana. Cho'gath, on that note, will probably be the same, if not easier. As he is a monster with a jagged carapace, they can use less polygons to model him and it won't look out of place; that being said, I personally think they need to fix his arms so he looks less like a glorified can opener and more like a horrific monster.
think of all the crystals sticking out of his armor, shield, and hammer. on all 3 of his skins. sure, he's human, but updating the jutting gems are probably more of a nightmare than shaving Warwick's back.
Also. His jurassic Cho skin has all of those bones and screws that make up his body that are covered in cracks. even if gentleman Cho shouldnt be an issues in comparison to the first two. so really depending on how far they want to take it can really skew just how long it will take.
/agrees on the crab hands though.
Taric is one of their current rework projects (His kit is already virtually complete and art assets are in the works). Cho is a lot farther out because they want his feast stacks to change how his model looks outside of just a size difference.
How should he be improved? As much as I agree with you that his in-game model looks outdated, I can't really think of a way to improve his look without adding at least a few hundred more polygons (which tends to make everything laggier).
Leave it to the pros.
He's a very large-scale project. Riot wants to give him an entirely new rig and model, and might even make him evolve as he gains stacks of his ult. Basically he's going to take as much work as Pulsefire Ezreal did. It's going to be quite some time before he gets his VU, but rest assured it is coming.
It's gonna be a while, last I knew they were restricted in terms of his rig so they have to remake him from scratch, I think ironstylus mentioned using the battlecast rig but I'm not sure
I'm so excited to see the Cho'Gath VU one day. I'll probably play him a lot once it happens.
CHO need to refix his 3D visual so damnn true the reality so sad than the splash art. and his early game size Hes so TINY. maybe he need that fix too. Malphite so. Compare with REkSai Malp and CHO their size is not balance.
That is the whole point of Cho'gath, that he starts out itty bitty but turns into a giant monstrosity when he stacks up. if they made his base appearance bigger, then each stack would look less like an increase (and that would also make it harder to gauge exactly how many stacks he has by looking at him).
Splash Art = Badassrampagingpacificrimkaiju
In-game = chewed up playdough
his extra arm/claw thingys need to have an attack animation, right now it looks like cho is headbutting his target.... his arms just flail in the air when moves and thats it, cho needs to live up to his name as 'The Terror of the Void'
maybe his attack range could grow a bit when he gains a stack of feast, this way his arms can help him reach his dinner er I mean opponent much more easily :P
Erm... His attack range does grow with each stack, up to +50 range.
I'm very happy to wait if it means we're going to get something awesome, but in the mean time, could we maybe have a couple of simple tweaks to make him less of a red and purple blur, tidy up his particle effects (Feral Scream looks bad with high stacks), and perhaps fix the hit box on Rupture?
It still haunts me to this day when I used Rupture, the whole enemy team was within the circle but only one person got hit.
I can't wait for the VU. Especially for the evolving stacks idea. I love the idea of champions changing as they get more powerful.
