Why play Pyke at all when Blitz, Thresh and Nautilus exist?

Raoul··1 votes·3,424 views

I mean seriously, they are better at everything than he is.

I am more scared of a full behind AP Blitzcrank than I am of a fed Full AD Pyke...

His hook might be the worst thing in leagues history, having a longer channel time that Threshs cast time while having a lower range and being weaker when it hits... Seriously, when Blitz or Thresh hook you, you better prepare your lower and for some punding, but when Pyke hits you... a)you would deserve getting your lower back handed to you because you just got hit by a Pyke Q, and b) you wont, because pyke has nothing to follow up.

I mean, yeah, he can then use his ONLY REAL MOBILITY to stun you, but then this little squishy guy, who cant even build healt, is suddendly right next to your team with no escape mechanisms back.

Sure, you could say he can gank better, but can he really? His stealth is a joke, even before oyu can see him, you get a warning that he is there with these stuoid sharks that appear below you. Unless you are blind, you should NEVER be suprised by a Pyke gank.

And you wanna know the best joke? They are currently nerfing him on the PBE (Yes, lowering base stats and increasing AD ratios is a nerf for a champion that can not really afford any good AD Items unless your team is already winning hard)

For real now... this guy needs help and he needs it now.

Pyke is completely different in both playstyle and build to either of those champions.

Yeah, and utterly useless unless your team would be winning without you...

Not at all. If your team is losing, Split push. Pyke is an awesome split pusher. The best thing you can do when a team is losing is not feed with them. Go put pressure elsewhere. Only be ready to help if there's a base tilting point.

No, he's designed to set up plays like them, but do a lot more damage then they do. It's like having an Orianna and a Janna and saying they are basically the same because they both have a shield...

Or you could play a Zyra who can set up plays way better than he can, while having her aoE CC on a lower Cooldown, while being ranged, and while having other toold to actually work as a poke/burst support.

Same with Brand.

Pyke does nothing he does best. hell, he doesnt even do anything he does decent.

Ok, tell me, what exactly is Pykes strength, what is it that makes you say "I want a Pkye as support over any other possible option"?

What does he bring to the support role, that others cant do better? I mean, hell Rengar works better as a support than pyke does...

She has one ability to set up plays, he has 2. She has no hard CC, he has 2 (all be it one of them is only for a short period).

No, really just no....

He does several things well, and his strength is he is a damage dealing support with great sustain, great play making and decent damage.

As above. He is a playmaking carry support with lane great lane sustain. You might not like him, that's fine, but personally I love playing him as support.

Yeah you lost me here. Pyke is a great support, Rengar is clearly not. But hey, if you wanna play rengar support feel free, just don't complain when you get called a troll...

I know this is an old post but I had to put my 1 cent in. With all the factors you've mentioned is the same reason why I like playing Pyke and will have him as my support main. When you are teamed with a good player who knows how to work with Pyke's abilities, you will basically control your lane. Also, OP forgot to mention Pykes R which is a game changer.

You must have been playing as/with terrible Pykes to think he's "bad".

He is literally more tanky than they are naturally. They also have to choose between AP/Tank, his tank items give him damage, etc.

He’s one of the top 10 supports right now. I don’t see that being useless really. Also if you’re dashing into the enemy team every time you hook or you don’t have any escape after you dash you are doing it all very very wrong.

i always think its cute when people support obviously bad heroes with this "you just dont get it mom..." attitude xD

So you’re saying because you don’t understand how to use a champ it makes them bad?

Honestly it just comes down to a preference thing. If you prefer blitz go for it. But can’t say someone is bad if you’ve played them only a handful of times.

I don't think he's meant to be better than them. His peeling is way too sub-par to replace the other 3 in a role who traditionally excels at peeling. He's really just meant to be a niche option if you happen to have plenty of peel already in your comp or you have someone that simply prefers an assassin flavor in their champion.
