Riven

I was always under this impression that riven was a broken freelo champion that anyone could play, just slam your face repeatedly on the keyboard and get a penta type champion. It took me until about game 5 after I bought her that she is very hard to play well. Even match-ups riven is supposed to dumpster seemed very difficult for me. I would still go even with her at very least, because bronze players are very easy to catch out of position, or just wandering aimlessly through a part of the jungle they had no wards in.

One thing to understand about me as a player is I do not often have the time to play LOL, so my skills are not superb, but even after 3 years of playing every now and again I can still play better than the majority of the people I get matched with. However one problem that I have is I never really think about what is going on in teamfights, and try and predict skills and such. Therefore, my ability to outplay is generally based off of players making mistakes that happen to fit well into what I was doing at the time, I never REALLY think about what I do.

Saturday I played with my brother for a few games and the first game I played after not playing for at least a month was RIVEN. I made a decision before that game that I would very consciously focus specifically on animation cancelling with riven, the very thing that players claim separate good riven players from bad ones. My K/D/A was 21/3/6. NEVER have I done well with this champion, meaning getting above 15 kills without dying at least 10 times. Animation cancelling really really does make a big difference in your play.

Another thing to note about me as a player is a go balls deep, every time. Towards the end of the game I sat in the enemy base after we took 1 tower and inhibitor and pushed Riven to as far as I could take her. For about 5 minutes I sat in the base and played 1v3/1v2, and at one point I killed the enemy tryndamere, garen, and kassadin with 1000 health at the start of the fight and 50 by the time I killed the rest. Riven can do some crazy shit, but none of these things are remotely possible without animation cancelling.
