Please leave politics out of this game

Honestly, since games began shit talking was very prominent, and that didn't change in online games. Riot has set out to change that, and while I do disagree with that, I have to respect it because that is the contract I am in by playing this game.

But please, if me calling someone bad is a reportable offense, why is it cool to sit and start arguments about things that have nothing to do with the game. I am sick of playing with people who call me a homophobic because I said " that's gay " after I die, and proceed to get harrassed for the rest of my 30 minute time investment and reported in the end even after apologizing for my word choice like a civil human being.dd

I am also sick of people saying stuff like " Muslims are a bunch of fuckin terrorists " or " If you vote for X presidential candidate you need to kill yourself. " If I have to sit there and keep my opinion from the game to keep from getting reported by an entire group of people, I don't think it's unreasonable for people to do the same in a world where some people simply will not agree on stuff, and there is no option to report someone for generally trying to start a fight about sensitive issues. So I must ask:

I agree fully. If you don't understand how politics works, don't talk about it. Especially in a game. I made the post above basically saying "All you people complaining about Tencent stfu you don't even understand bruh [slayer-jinx-unamused]"

But seriously, politics/religion should not be in the same sentence as Baron in 5 minutes, make sure to rotate top before then and push wave.

It's a lot easier to say nothing than it is to tell people they're bad or use gay in a way that makes being gay seem wrong. Just saying. BTW when people say kill yourself or muslims are terrorists, they're in the wrong according to the report system and if you didn't actually say anything wrong, the reports against you won't mean anything. But if you did say something wrong, then deal with the consequences.

I agree 100x this new shit about tencent as well. That has no place in the game and will most likely not effect the game at all. I don't care if you write about it in your blog or whatever but leave it out of the boards. They have no place here.

Hmmm, a game that's made by a developer who praises itself for the socialization aspects of its community? Nah, politics have every fucking reason to be here.

Yeah, I mean, I know politics leads to heated often angry arguments, but I don't mind open discussion and dialogue as long as people can handle it (Which is asking a lot of LoL toxics who can't seem to handle chatting period)

That said, being a bigoted xenophobe is never acceptable.

LOL the imagery in my head of that chat combo....

Generally I don't get too chatty while actually playing cuz it's seconds I SHOULD be actually playing and politics isn't something you can finish discussing in a few seconds.

I don't think I've seen political discussions in this game more than twice. The one time I remember in the past year was literally one chat line.

I've never seen a political discussion in LoL since I've been playing.

Perhaps you're confusing this with WoW's Trade chat.

Two things I never talk about with others: Politics and Religion... no good comes of it typically.
