Why do people keep saying "you should've warded" all the time?

I personally don't have a problem with being ganked and whatnot but honestly the only people that say "you shouldve warded" are those that refuse to help other lanes out (like jglers or etc) Like I wish I had wards to put down 24/7 and I wish the wards lasted longer but they have long ass cooldowns and they expire quick. You can only put down 1 pink ward at a time too. There are jglers like hecarim, rek sai, pantheon, nunu (high movement speed), and others that even if you do see them with your ward you can't do anything about it. They either are too fast to outrun or come from spots that you wanted to ward but couldnt cause you only can ward at most 3 places (2 trinkets + pink) But then when we get caught out by a gank people usually start saying "you shouldve warded you trash". I remember when i played adc around season 4 and people reported me for "focusing tank" when i had no peel and their tank was running over me.

I grant, you're not talking about something unreasonable like a Support without sightstone complaining about getting ganked. That being said, what they're probably talking about is putting yourself in a position where you can't stop ganks.

If there's no vision where you wanna go and you don't know where the jungler is, you might wanna step back and consider if it's worth the risk. There are champions like Leblanc who can go "of course, it's fine" and hug an escape route, while others like Vel'koz may need to sit back closer to their tower and just let the enemy laner have their cs, lest that Hecarim run a train on them. It's not exactly an easy thing to predict without a team that wards, (beyond just the Support) and even then it can be difficult, but paying attention to the enemy jungler's movements whenever possible can go a long way towards saving yourself from ganks.
