How Do You Play Vs Ekko?

I can't seem to beat him in lane. He out pushes me with just his Q, out trades me, and when he's caught out he ults to safety. Any tips to play vs him besides just banning him?

Since he is a melee champion, he wants you to shove into his turret so he has the safety to cs and trade without worrying about your minion line or overextending. This video can be applied to any assassin/mage matchup:

One tip unique to ekko: Refrain from harassing or trading until he uses Q to cs. You will lose any trade that includes his passive proc

I agree. I just last hit and when he launches a q I poke him as much as possible and dodge the return q. Then continue poking.
