Riot should just delete the Mordekaiser rework and learn from mistakes

Of course everyone has a personal opinion on him. But i see the vast majority of players disgusted by the rework. I planned to play some more Morde when they reworked him and oh my god how UNFUN he is now.

I think he is completely stupidly designed at his core. Just think about what you can do with the current morde. Your ONLY play pattern is this:

Walk in melee range
Hope to burst down someone before they do

Tryndamere has more interactivity then this thing (NO JOKE) THe Dragon thing is cool and i like it, but that's it really.

He is horrible both to play as, and against.

He is right now the most ignorant champion in the game and Riot should just go back to the drawing board.

Let's just stop using this phrase please, the boards aren't everyone, you can go to various other communities to find different opinions on him, and you can find a large group of people here even to like him only to find them being shuttered away because upvotes only go to any thread being angry about something.

Also due note that this is no different then before, and that is why I consider his rework both a success and failure, I think they have a foundation down to put Mordekaiser in a better spot, they just haven't gotten the exact mark yet.

In my opinion Mordekaiser should get a means to close the gap between his opponents in the form of a pull like Darius or some other means to get the fight focused near him.

He is right now the most ignorant champion in the game and Riot should just go back to the drawing board.

Anyway, solid analysis of current Mordekaiser. Personally, I don't mind him being the slow juggernaut exemplifying the continual march of death, but I do agree that he needs some way to force a fight (see also, Illaoi). If that means giving him some CC, that's alright in my opinion.

Well I just got 53 kills as adc Mord so..

Dont think he needs a gap closer. That is basis for nerfs. No bueno.

It's funny though that you end up being more succesful with Morde than with Xerath. I can still kill things with Morde while Xerath needs to be overfed to be dangerous.

That said, I'm really displeased by how Riot is avoiding to talk about Mordekaiser in any form. They said last time that they are taking a break for christmas but here they are talking about Tahm, Shen and a lot of other balance related thing while their "Dev Blog" about Mordekaiser is a copy-paste from the introduction of his rework.

I'm not sure what else you expect, they made the dev blog and replied to some comments, why don't you wait until after break to see what they have to say instead of accusing them of not talking when they very clearly have.

Except after the rework they also had discussions where even CertainlyT was answering questions and explaining his reasoning on the reworks, You can only devote so much time to one champion here, Mordekaiser isn't the single most important character in the game right now.

I think I am one of the few people that actually likes this change for him from a purely thematic point of view. Hes a hulking metal man who enslaves enemies to his will. OF COURSE he should have a lackey (support) to help him enslave more souls.

Also, previously, he really didnt offer anything special other than his ult, which he still has. While it sucks that his previous playerbase feels completely alienated, I dont think this rework was a complete miss.

Yorick has 10,000 times as many play choices as Morde.

Yorick needs some serious work, but in terms of choice, gameplay, AND strategy, he's years ahead of Morde. OK, now that I've said that, let's take a look at Yorick; don't worry, I'll wait... yeah, if yorick is the healthy one, Morde needs work. (sad thing is I actually love Yorick, but I have to admit the faults)

It was mostly a joke but yeah they need to do somthing with morde again. Went from 9x damage q to a 2x damage q. I agree yorick has more play potential now. Was on the same side as you.

I disagree with this completely. Yorick when he was good was an absolute piece of garbage who singlehandedly ruined top lane.

Morde has WAY less problems, especially post rework even if the tiny group of old morde fanboy's and malicious metal's army of forum smurfs spend all day crying about it.

Same here, except I love morde way more after the changes. He was the first champion I ever played when my friend showed me league of legends, and now I'm having a blast playing him in both ADC and Jungle

As for the content of the post proper: what you describe is basically all Juggernauts. What is Garen purpose if not "walk in melee range and hope to burst someone" with spin-to-win + ult? What is Nasus purpose if not "walk in the middle of them and hope you have farmed your Q enough"? All Juggs have a way to force the fight. You mentioned Illaoi. Garen has a small MS buff and Darius has his pull, Nasus has his big slow, but Morde usually rush either items with big MS (Triforce) or Rylai (for the slow). So yeah, you don't like Juggernauts, and they are champs with little interactivity, granted, but that's not specific to Morde.

And for the "the vast majority of players disgusted": I'd like to see your stats, and your sources. As for me, I'd like him to be more viable in solo lane, but I'm perfectly happy with his state in duo-lane.
