Alistar is boring?

As a support main i find myself steering clear of alistar out of all the champions. He has long cool downs a bad early game with horrible mana costs, a useless passive ( Zilean club) And his w feels like it could be so much more. If we could get a buff to his w that allowed us to use it as a skillshot, or if it had a knockback effect on multiple champions (Kind of like lee sin) Alistar wouldn't feel so lame. What do you think?

He has high mana costs because he's so powerful.

Two form of hard CC. One pushes trouble away from you. Other is AoE.

As well as AoE heal that gets a lower CD as things die around you. Making it perfect for in-fight healing.

And one of the strongest damage reducing abilities in the game, WITH CC removal.

Ending it with free AoE damage form passive that also gives the ability to move though units.

Overall his only downsides are his mana cost and he's melee. Otherwise he's a near-perfect support.

No support is perfect or he would be seeing more play

As it should be. But he's very close.

Thresh is up there for the same reasons. Instead of a heal he has a shield/escape. His mana costs are not horrible. But he is squishy earlier in the game and everything's a skill shot/point blank.

He is the strongest support in the game currently after Thresh.

Build him full AP mid lane.

Alistar's headbutt should do the same thing Lee Sin's ult does, just with a lot less damage of course since it's a normal ability.

Alistair is the one reason why Malphite is seen less in LCS.

on the contrary I find Alistar to be quite enjoyable due to the sheer unkillable nature of him and the fact W-Q combo is recognized as one of, if not THE hardest to pull off properly (Maybe not anymore now that the velocity's down, though now I find it even harder...)

On the other hand, games in which I have a bad team and am facing a decent team I tend to hate, since Ali doesn't feel like he has any carry potential. Sure, 5 man knockups, but doesn't really matter when nearly everyone's ~50 cs down in lane. @@

He's really not as good as people make him out to be In my honest opinion.

He is fun if you enjoy being very tanky and disturbing the enemy team with threatening CC. Consider him if Leona, Braum, Nautlius and Blitzcrank are your type of supports.

If like me you like poke and kite wars yes he's boring AF. If Janna, Sona, Nami and Karma are your type of supports, Alistar is probably not a good fit for you.
