Talon rework thoughts?

So I just got done watching the entire q&a on assassin rework. I one would like to say Kat looks super fun. Two,I'm not a Leblanc player but seems okay. The biggest thing I seen is that the talon rework in my opinion missed the mark...

As someone who used main talon in s3 I was expecting a lot more. While the jump mechanic across terrain seemed appealing the more I watch it the more disappointed I was at the champion in a whole. The only thing I liked was the passive.

Talon needs some type of gap closer to the target. I believe the e mechanic should have 2 charges on same terrain to get back in or vise verse. The w should been completely reworked, how does talon suck his blades back in? The designer said telipathic, what a f-in joke. I can think of 100 ways to make his w not like ekkos q. Forget bringing the blades back to him try throwing more maybe in a circle or similar to vlads e projectile. Even the blades themselves look wack.

He's a assassin for crying out loud with no gap closer to be kitted. I don't want use my ultimate to get into a fight but instead to burst 2x and get out. Anything to make him more mobile getting in the fight when not near terrain will greatly increase the fun playstyle.

Overall I'm just super disappointed. I think Kay's designer did a amazing job and I rarely ever play Kat. Thoughts and opinions would be great so they can scrap this rework.

His new Q lets him dash to people. I'm not sure it's as far as his current E, but it's completely understandable if it's shorter, considering his new E still has mobility.

Tested talon and katarina with a friend on PBE. Talon is LOT better now than he was, stashu finally did a good job on a rework.

Katarina is wonky. Shes a lot more mobile with a lot more outplay potential, but she feels clunky and the learning curve will be high.

Overall it seems like riot wants assassins to actually be a junglers, which is a change i wholeheartedly agree with because it limits the assassins power curve and demands more skilled play.

I used to play talon a lot and even though I was never a mid laner I liked the way he worked. Now I started playing long-forgotten champs like zed and yasuo. Yes they are harder than talon BUT much better in their current state. The old talon had a weak early game, which could be corrected if you knew how to play and set up an early gank if possible. He had a gap closer from his e,which slowed a lot. His w was much faster-the blades came back instantly-now you have to be really close to talon or an idiot not to dodge the return. His q was was basically the burst monster in his kit-a lot of damage and bleed. Now what do we have? An E,which works only on summoner's rift since there you have the most terrain, and is completely useless in combat. Blinking behind my enemy has helped me dodge so many projectiles in the past I can't even count them. Now all it's used for is moving around the map-it doesn't provide any slow or extra damage and only looks cool. The w-basically the same thing only worse. You might ask me why is that-the old w did good damage and the return was instant. You could then e on your enemy and q them for the thunderlords and continue fucking them. Now you can hit you first w but the return is very easy to dodge. Now the biggest failure of them all-the q. This was the thing that made people react-huh what just happened cuz it allowed you to destoy enemy squishies, even when not fed. Now the q does less damage because it doesn't give you a bleed and indirectly because all talon players now use it to get to their targets rather than using some other spell-like the old e and then attacking with the full power of the q. The inner circle is almost impossible to hit in actual combat because no one will let you just walk up them and crit them. And the new passive-the effect of the old q but really slow. No one will give you that much time to hit all your stacks and cause enemies to bleed. The new ult is more stealthy, since pink wards can't reveal you,but you cant e w q r on an enemy because like all other spells it can't be recast that effectively like the old ult so the blades retract and kill the target. So yup-flashy but useless,I mean you can't have an ability solly dedicated to movement-yes there are other such abilities but you can cast them to save yourself. Yasuo's dash deals damage and lets you move through enemies, thus helping you escape. Zed's w gives you passive ad and lets you use your shadow to move a nice distance. Draven's w increases ms and as,and can be used for chasing and fast combat IN LANE= Talon's e is useless in lane. I mean the other reworks like kata and lb-they have dashes, which can be used in lane to their advantage-his e can't and you sacrifice your q's damage just to get to your opponent-by then you have already wasted your q and can't crit on them and rely on the e and basic attacks and you get fucked up. The points of the assassin is to be squishy but also do tons of damage and be mobile- rengo's rework did this well, although I am not a rengar player and people who are can correct me,but based on what I have seen in game he works well in multiple matches while the others just stopped getting played. Now talon can't burst down even adc, except if he is fed and manages to slip close to them so he can use his q's inner circle.

i think the way hes meant to be played is to set up invisible to enemy vision behind a wall in a team fight, jump over it and one shot the adc, then use another wall to jump out. i feel like it will work if u test it out and i like the rework though i wish there was a bit more change and maybe the q could be different

The problem is what if your in a fight in mid lane just like fights usually break out and they don't step close to the terrain or wall? You are screwed it's not only that it's suppose be a rework but only thing reworked was the passive and the e. He needs be move elusive while not relying solely on walls to get position to the carry. Any smart adc will not stand next to a wall. Any smart adc will also kite champs easily with no gap closer.

i mean his jump over a wall thing to his q jump thing (yes his old e got reworked into his q) is enough to get to an adc in my opinion and maybe if worst case, u will blow a flash

idk man i think it will work and u cant just say talon has no gap closer

But he does have a gap closer. His Q has both a ranged and melee aspect to it. In melee range it crits, outside of melee range Talon leaps to his target instead. Maybe it isn't as good as his old E. (Because you don't just blink, but actually dash to the target.)

In my opinion I think Talon is still quite similar to how he was before. His Q is the same except for the lack of bleeding effect (Inset AC Reference) and the new ranged version. His W is also still the same to an extend, except of course now it was a delay on its way back but deals more damage. (Like Ekko, yeah.) His ult is still quite the same except now it can retract onto an enemy's face if you auto them, which is bloody amazing.

Overall the biggest change is his passive and E really, but Talon is kinda still the same, except he now has this amazing leaping ability. Don't see a big problem with his gameplay really.

"No gap closer to be kited". His old e was pretty predictable imo. The new q makes him just as mobile. The new q is now his old q and e wrapped together. I can predict jungle Talon to be a thing soon.

"The w should been completely reworked, how does talon suck his blades back in?" How can you have a problem with him being able to pull his W blades back but not his ult? Telekinetic bladework is kinda Talon's thing.

His new Q is a dash if he casts in on a target outside of melee range, and a guaranteed crit instead if in melee range.

He's actually fairly weak as said by Rioters, and they were looking to buff/adjust him more.
