I would really appriciate the opinion of higher lvl player(PlatV-Challenger).

This is a bad poll. The answer is champ dependent and goal dependent.

When on janna i am finding it hard to safely use thief(against thresh), so i have started going going for gold.

Your build needs to be more fluid not I have X champ must have X item.

While I'm not plat by any means, I can say this: coin is simply worthless as a start, it gives you no stats for laning phase aside from mp5. If you plan to build talisman, start with boots or a health crystal and then get the upgraded coin or talisman later.

So start spellthiefs on all of those supports.

I prefer going spellthief unless I know that poking is gonna get me killed. (Bltzcrank, Morgana, Lux)

Otherwise fairy charm, pink ward, green ward and a couple pots. Nomads on first back.

If you want challenger opinions you could actually just look at the supports from the NA LCS teams and see what they build for a few of them. For example I know that Lustboy only seems to go Spellthief of Nami (and he's played the majority of his LCS games on Nami). To be honest though it's jut about harass, once Soraka's Q gets changed it'll he hard to get off 3 abilities/AAs on the enemy because she has long CDs and Soraka doesn't Banana that often. On Someone like Janna ho is meant to disengage if you used her abilities for the extra gold you'd get ganked and die (because you wouldn't have anything up). On the other hand Sona can pretty much instantly get off 3 stacks with a good Q + AA. Sona also doesn't need the speed up as she already has one for the team. So she benefits more from the extra AP.
