RIOT: Why doesn't ˝Healing and Shielding Power˝ have it's own Value in ability tooltip ?

PokladnicaZla··66 votes·1,977 views

Hello As you know ˝Healing and Shielding Power˝ is a stat that increases your healing and shielding, but when you buy it you ability tooltip doesn't show by how much your heal or shield have been increased. It doesn't make sense really,as many abilities show double scaling or scaling from different sources. So how about we add it to ability tooltips? I hope we're all on the same page on how this is a clarity issue and should be updated. The only thing we should agree on is the colour of the stat. AP is usually green AD is orange True damage is white Health is red Mana is blue AR is yellow MR is purple

That leaves pink or any other unused colour.

EDIT: Cyan proppsed by Danjeng*

item 3107 this item tells you everything about how it scales in a big wall of text

but if you want to know actually how much it will heal a teammate (which is the only thing you need to know), well tough luck

PokladnicaZla11 votes

I think you misunderstood. It's not the items ,but the ability tooltips that's the issue.

For example,Soraka's lvl5 W heals for 200 (+60%AP). If you have 0AP and 20% healing and shielding power, the tooltip will display it as a 200 (+0AP) heal. It should be more like 200 (+0AP)(+40 from H&S power).

flibitydoo3 votes

yeah and I'd rather they also fix redemption and any healing effect in the game as well so it actually states how much HP it will restore (since it's the only part of the tool tip one would care about, just as any damaging ability/item tells you how much damage it would do).

200(+0AP)(+40 from h/s)* :p

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Shhh.People don't have to know I'm dumb :(( Gonna update it

Iota Theta6 votes

Can't be yellow. Yellow is Armor scaling.

BlueBilberry5 votes

Yes, let's dig out the puice colour for heals and shields. :p

PokladnicaZla3 votes

Lets make it pink! Or any other colour that is not veing used XD

There was also idea to change the name of the stat to something one-word and simple. Though many suggestions are not as self-explaining as Healing and Shielding Power such as Grace, Devotion, etc., simple Enchant Power with EP as short might help at least a little. The color pink might make confusion with the fact Invisibility and True Sight already has that as far as I know, but they are not scaling, so I wouldn't mind it.

PokladnicaZla2 votes

Seen that thread. Another word for it would be a great change as well.

Oh I forgot about True Sight as well. Damn. So,what colours does that leave us?

Velzard of Koz2 votes

I mean, as I said, since Invisibility and True Sight aren't scalings, it isn't problem. Also another shade of pink doesn't hurt. Not sure which couple it is, but Attack Damage or Attack Speed in combination with Critical Strike scaling has seemingly the same colour while they are slightly different shade. I think it's AD and CS. When you look at it - as If they shared the orange colour. But CS is slightly darker. So simply lighter shade of pink wouldn't be problem.

Wisely spoken. Hope a RIOTer sees this thredd. They don't need to reply, but just be aware of the issue

It's called Benevolence.

FilDaFunk3 votes

It could replace AA range, it isn't something that changes in game, so wouldn't be a tragic loss.

Tristana

Steelflame3 votes

Gnar too. His ranged form's range scales with level. Starts out at like 350 IIRC and scales up to 500ish.

Steelflame3 votes

There are multiple effects that change AA range actually.

Various ults grant range, some auto replacer skills grant range, a few passives do, and then there is Rapidfire Cannon.

In total, about 20 champions have their range change in game not even counting Rapidfire further being able to amplify range on anyone who may purchase it.

I totally understand what you mean. At this moment I don't know whether (for example) Redemption's 10%H&S is added to Windspeaker's or 10% over Windspeaker's... If I have Mikhail's and Redemption, is it 10% + 10 % = 20%, or Base H&S + 10% = 110%... and then 10% of that = 121%? Does Windspeakers come before or after all this? I mean, I get Redemption, Mikhail's and Ardent... and I know my H&S is strong... but how much AP will outperform 10% H&S... it is a pain in the ass to figure that out. Unless someone knows of some cool tool for this.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

All H&S power stacks additively with each other. So if you have Wind Speakers ( 10% H&S power) , Mikaels ( 20% H&S ) and a Heal of 100. Healing will be increases by 30%. Making it a 130 Heal.

I don't have a tool to calculate how much AP would ouperform H&S,just simple math. :/

EP (Enchantment Power) in Cyan seems like a reasonable stat. Tenacity is a stat viewable in game despite having a higher rarity than EP. Currently, only three items with tenacity exist within the game, one of them a potion, and another only available in Twisted Treeline. Meanwhile, there are three completed items that have EP, four if you count the component Forbidden Idol. If CC reduction has a name, Healing and Shielding Power deserves one too.

Or you can calculate as it always comes in amount of 10%?

PokladnicaZla23 votes

The same reason why you can view your abilities CD ,even tho CDR comes in values of 10 or 20 % :)))

FilDaFunk1 votes

Well, unless you have cdr runes. BUT THAT'S ABOUT TO CHANGE.

Sraeg20131 votes

RIP 40% CDR with only Morellonomicon.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

That used to be a thing?

DrCyanide2 votes

Possible, yes. On my Nasus setup I'd start the game with 20% CDR to get stacks faster. 5% from Masteries, 15% from Runes.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Uuu.Kinky.

Is it worth it tho? There's so much CDR in the game, that you end up buying at least 10% in some way?

Sraeg20133 votes

The faster you get CDR on Nasus the faster you get to punch some faces in.

Pretty sure the minimum for Nasus would be 30% from items, though, so I'd run 10% (or 5% depending on masteries) + MR in Glyphs.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Again,I play mostly support and it feels wasted on them since they already optimize for CDR.

Sraeg20131 votes

"Optimize."

Getting 60% CDR with a standard build doesn't seem "optimized" to me.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

How do you end up with 60% CDR? :O

Sraeg20131 votes

Well, I haven't played support in a long time, but the last time I did it was a chore to not waste stats while getting all necessary items.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Maz I ask what you build? I presume you build item 3174 which gives 20% CDR + 10% from your gold item + 5% masteries. That should have left you with another item of 10% CDR?

Sraeg20131 votes

{quoted}

I haven't played support in a long time,

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Re-quoting isn't really the answer tho.

Im curious as what you build.

DrCyanide1 votes

The way I see it, Runes are most impactful early game, then taper off as the game goes on. You don't really care about that +15 AP at the 35 minute mark, but it matters a whole lot for the first 10 minutes or so.

With that perspective, what's being traded? You're getting more stacks in laning phase, the period of the game when you'll be around Minions the most. You're trading some armor/health for those stacks. At the 20-30 minute mark when you go over on CDR, the bonus health/armor would have been negligible anyway, but you've still got the extra stacks.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

They help you reach your power spike earlier, but also leave you more vulnerable.

Not saying it's bad.Depends on your play-style

Sraeg20132 votes

You can do it right now. Not sure if it will be possible with the Rune rework.

CDR/lvl Glyphs provide 15% CDR at level 18. Add the 5% from masteries and you have 20% without buying a single item.

You can also start with 15% CDR flat, but you need flat CDR glyphs and quints (10% + 5% from Masteries).

PokladnicaZla1 votes

I play mostly support,so CDR runes are excessive as there's too many CDR as it is.

Myb it's more efficient on classes who don't rush CDR that much?

Sraeg20131 votes

Well, an average mage doesn't actually have that many options. You have Morello and maaaybe 10% from either Zhonya's or Banshee's.

AP assassins on the other hand can easily cap CDR by adding Lich Bane.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

They do lack options,I will give you that, but most mages and up with at least 20% CDR.

Sraeg20131 votes

{quoted}

PokladnicaZla1 votes

I don't understand ,what's you used a quote? I agree that they lack options in terms of CDR

Sraeg20131 votes

That you repeated what I said.

Plus the discussion was about capping CDR and 20% CDR isn't anywhere near the cap.

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Well, not every class needs to get 40% CDR.

After Supports, Mages(as a class) should be next in maxing the cap,but sadly they lack option in that matter. Again, not every mages needs to build 40%,but if they choose to go for spamming more spells, they should have the choice in that matter, which they don't.

Overall the game could use more itemization for all classes.

Steelflame6 votes

There are still CDR runes though. Both the new version of the 5% overcap CDR rune, and a rune gives 1% CDR per level till level 10.

Sraeg20131 votes

You mean in the Runes "reforged"?

Steelflame1 votes

Yes. Both of these have been leaked runes, and I'm sure there will be even more CDR rune options as well.

DISHONORABLE XD1 votes

Stop , no more buffs to shields .

PokladnicaZla3 votes

Ummm. This isn't a buff. It's a clarity issue and wouldn't increase the heal in any way, just display it real value.
