Season 6 is by far the worst season yet
I have been playing since season 3 so I don't know much about seasons 1 and 2.
Season 6 has been taken in the wrong direction. Here's why:
-
Wards: Vision was a game of itself(especially in season 3 before trinkets were introduced). You could tell a player was good by how they bought wards and placed their wards. Players would sacrifice items for wards, that's how important they were. It brought diversity to the game in the sense that it wasn't all mechanics, it was proper vision control. Example: I am playing mid lane orianna and I see my laner has come back without any wards, this either indicates a) he/she placed them already, b) he/she didn't buy wards, I can capitalize by telling my team, look hey guys, this guy has no wards, come gank. This is an example of before trinkets were introduced, but still, even after trinkets people still controlled played the vision game unlike in season 6 were vision control mainly comes from if you are ahead. After trinkets were introduced, it was still similar, if a person had the yellow trinket you could outplay by getting the red trinket, clearing his wards, and buying wards of your own. You could control vision around your lane which could determine if you win lane or not, and helps your team out by controlling a part of the map.
-
Game knowledge: Oh boy, this is a big one I noticed. Since season 3, riot has been babying everyone. There weren't any timers back then, so gradually over the patches and seasons they kept adding shit to make the game easier. First dragon and baron hp was introduced so smiting is easier (God forbid you played the game longer than the other guy so you had a better idea when to smite), then dragon and baron timers (ONLY WHEN YOU HAD VISION), now you get dragon/baron timer without vision, AND YOU ALSO GET BUFFS TIMER. Season 7 they are going to give us the enemy summoners timer. This game has went from knowledge/mechanics to only mechanics and op champs. You could win games just from keeping timers to use to your advantage. THIS IS WHERE THE REAL ADVANTAGE CAME FROM, NOT FROM PLAYING DYNAMIC QUEUE against 5 solo queue players.
-
Dynamic queue: Here we go, the update of the century. "People didn't want to play ranked because they didn't want to leave there friends or they wanted to play with their friends" (not the exact quote but it was something along the lines). Give me a break, you want to play with your friends, no one is stopping you, queue up for a normal game. Why does riot even care if people are playing ranked or not. There is only one reason, so they benefit somehow in their sales because of some trend in their data or some bullshit. See I don't care about that, I want to play solo queue where each team has the same amount of solo queue players. It has been a hit or miss more than anything. I could get a really good team or a really bad team, no in between.
-
Snowball: This basically speaks for itself. About 7 out of 10 games have been open mid or /ff at 20. I am more of a casual player not trying to hit challenger and join the lcs, so excuse me if I want to actually enjoy a game of solo queue(dynamic queue, sigh, fucking dynamic queue) where there is suspense and back and forth fighting going on. If you lose all 3 outer turrets at 7-10 minutes you might as well afk. You lose so much vision and pressure because of lack of vision because you can't buy wards and your trinket is 150 second cooldown for a 25 second ward. Towers melt like butter, especially from the ad champ meta because of how op maw is atm. I played Cassiopeia a while back and I would do like 40 damage to the turret and after like 50 auto attacks I destroy it then roam, 20 seconds later "zed has destroyed your turret from full hp". Don't get me wrong, the games were it's actually close are fun and all, but they are too rare which makes most of these games boring.
Important parts of league keep getting taken out which makes the game dull.
