Why is there no "matchmaking" boards section?

The rank system is so inefficient, yet Riot seems to "hide" MMR and the actual calculations used from us to avoid criticism.

I know players who have grinded countless games are invested in defending the system, but I have to be honest... Bronze - Plat matchmaking is absolutely horrific. Since the majority of players are in the low ELOs why can't we have a boards section to discuss improvements? Or does Riot have zero interest in the transparency of their system, because they know how much scrutiny it would receive?

Discussions pertaining to the matchmaking system belong here in Gameplay.

Because making a separate board for every single subtopic is a horrendous idea. This is the board to discuss matchmaking

Because it is one of the best systems given all of the challenges it has to contend with.

Realistically, there are only a few small changes which could improve the system and none of them will get too much mileage. The rank by position next season is probably the best change out of the lot and even then, the effect will be a lot less than people think. Stuff like removing autofill and lp forgiveness for afk/leavers will marginally improve rank but not enough to really justify it's own forum dedicated to matchmaking.

There is no matchmaking change that will improve ranked enough to justify it's own forum. The majority of the problem we see are due to poor game balance or other gameplay issues that people inappropriately blame matchmaking for.
