How do you fight draven as almost any adc?

Rivuo··4 votes·1,128 views

I know you're supposed to CC him so he stops catching axes problem is he can just activate it again. So how do you really kill him? Ive tried caitlyn but if he just so happens to pop W then you need to E away or eat double your autos as damage

Ive tried ashe to ult him but honestly even if hes stunned for 2 seconds right when he comes out he'll just burst you faster than you can kill him while he was stunned

What do i do? The only adc i think i havent tried is kalista. I feel honestly as if draven is just a lane bully ment to win lane

Draven's high damage output is something you probably shouldnt try to duel. Having a support who can sufficiently detain him while your damage is administered is the easiest way of handling him. less someone like quinn or graves who can take away his vision and get free trade

You should be destroying him as caitlyn and ashe, you probably just need to be more aware of your positioning.

You out range him in both match ups. You can space him in such a way that he can't auto you but you can auto him. It's not very difficult wtf.

Uh nope. You try to trade autos and he will take a step and pop his W if he has to. cait or ashe cant outtrade when he has massive movement speed

You're right, he's got almost a 100% win rate no counter play. Afk next game no point gg.

Yeah and you know it all thats why you're in the rank you're in.

You're so right dude. But nobody can give advice against draven he's literally the best champion in the game, like I said 100% winrate.

Like i said. Id appreciate it if you gave detailed advice. Not ''you should be winning because range''

Thats not advice... Thanks for your post. Goodluck bro

The problem with telling someone what to do or who to choose is that you are a totally different player than me. There isn't exactly A WAY to fight him. Next time you are paired against a draven, try to figure out a way to attack him without getting rekt yourself.

For instance, I was told that Soraka was bad against a Draven because he could easily burst her down. When that matchup finally happened, not only did my adc and I rek him we also won lane with a little help from our jg.

Soraka vs Draven is fun, he tells you exactly where you need to aim

Damn got down voted for asking for advice. Sick

Let him naturally push lane and hope your jungle actually shows up to punish him for it. Seriously he pretty much always ends up under enemy tower so just dont get poked enough to be able to help when the gank comes. A shut down draven is a useless draven.

Dont try to out duel him either. Unless he wasted all his mana on axes and doesnt have a spin he is always going to out trade you early without proper support initiation.

When i play Draven i always pray that the enemy doesn't pick Leona Thresh Blitzcrank . They can look at the symbol and aim their hook abilities accordingly. Blitz especially is bad since if he pulls you then more than likely u wont have spinning axes. W/o spinning axes, draven's damage is meh at best.

you hit him first and you hit him last

that's how you beat draven as any adc

its as much mine as it is yours. Just like this thread you gave me in which I posted and you decided to single me out and engage me in some pretty inappropriate conversation.

So do I need to explain to you a very simple concept or not.

You aren't asking nicely. Nicely would be ignoring me.

You went out of your way to act like a victim and I honestly couldn't care less if you post on mine or not as long as you've got more to do than play games like the one youre playing now.

You even go so far as to criticize the content of my advice while you pretend this is about some shit between you and me. Who are you kidding?

Ignoring the shitstorm happening below, I would say that a skilled draven is pretty god-tier, in terms of adc. Pair him with a good blitzcrank, and that is just about game. However, there are two things that help shut him down:

You're support: A support with either an amazing engage cc (Blitzcrank Thresh Leona), or really spammy damage cc (Brand Anivia Annie) can lock him down and nuke his health bar, allowing for you (and your on point follow up) to kill the egotist.

Draven himself: Draven is hard af to get gud with. You have to constantly monitor your axes, and if someone (ie cait) sticks a damage source where the axe will land, you have to either loose the axe, or take free damage. Also, you are squishy, like all adc's, and a good poking war should see him die soon, assuming you bought some vamping, and he didn't.

Also, quick tip - DO NOT engage, I repeat, DO NOT ENGAGE right off the bat. Lvl's 1-3, his axes do massive damage. (I had one axe do 25% of my health as a lvl 1 anivia)

So how am i supposed to fight him tho? Even if i pick cait my main champ it doesnt matter. I just have to hope i can farm

Gibberwatt1 votes

Right - stay behind your minions, and shoot some of them. only focus on last hitting, not taking them from 100-0. Treat draven like he is radioactive (RUN AWAAAaaaaaaay), and wait for your supp to make him stop moving, or put you at a distinct health advantage.

Do you mean how do you fight driven in a 1 v 1? Well if he's fed I think very few ADs can fight him on even footing I would run and before for ganks.

Might I suggest googling driven counters? There's some good sites with specifications on how to beat him

He's way easier to handle 2 v 2 .

He can just activate it again, but he's got pretty terrible mana regen and it costs quite a bit of mana early on for him to start up an axe.

If you and your support can force him to keep dropping axes, he's going to lose his damage output for a brief period, and that is when you go in. He also telegraphs exactly where he's going to be, so ranged ability poke can still nail him, as can quite a few support poke abilities. Force him to either keep axes or evade damage, and eventually you'll wear down either his health or mana. Don't let him get close to you, and if he uses his w have your support either hard cc his ass or exhaust him and go to town. Exhaust shuts him down big time if he starts getting too cocky.

Hm yeah thats a good idea. So if im caitlyn maybe i should max Q instead of traps and just harass him. But it is pretty heavy mana

VoidStaresBack1 votes

Well here's the thing: I'm not expert on ADCs, I only play Quinn and Sivir, but your traps may actually be more useful in terms of zoning him and forcing him to go certain directions with his axes, which makes your life a hell of a lot easier. Plus, if he gets caught in one you get a pretty decent chunk off his health from well outside of his range.

From a pure theory perspective, I think this is a call you should make with each time you see the matchup. If the Draven proves pretty good at avoiding your traps and CSing around them early on, q may be the better choice to max since you'll be able to poke him pretty hard and reliably. If he keeps getting stuck in them like a dumbass, put a couple levels in them to amp up your damage when he inevitably does something stupid. Plus, if you keep one to use defensively when he tries to charge at you and he steps in it, suddenly he's the one on the getting dicked rather than you, his target.

As I said, not an ADC main, barely an ADC player, most of this is coming from my knowledge of the champions and general theory, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
