Is there any downside to Diana right now aside from melee last hitting? Seems OP as fk.

Her innate tankiness is absolutely ridiculous it seems like, she basically has 100%-0% capabilities in 2 hits, has great unlimited gap closing as long as her ability lands, and snowballs like a freaking madman. Is this all?

Have you seen her winrates? She's pretty average. Like plenty of other midlaners, she has the potential to 100-0 squishies and has snowball potential. If that was enough to warrant a nerf, we'd nerf every assassin and mage (I believe Diana counts as both). Only thing she lacks is an escape, which is why she gets that innate tankiness to survive destroying the adc with her gapcloser (which is part of her job as an assassin in teamfights).

Best way to counter her is with a bruiser or tank to keep her away from the backline, while another apc or assassin destroys her (if the adc is close enough to auto her, you're doing it wrong because you're in range. This is really up to the bruiser here).

Just to jump in, she's more of an assassin/bruiser right now, which has kind of been the issue with her.

Well, the only way to fix that is to give her defensive mobility and remove her innate tankiness if we wanted her to be a pure assassin, or buff her tankiness and lower her damage to make her a pure bruiser.

She might be annoying, but an assassin without an escape needs to be a bruiser as well. It's not an unheard of combination (Vi, J4, and a few other bruisers can be itemized to assassinate). She's not like Zed or Akali or Leblanc who have options, she's an all-in assassin.

"As long as her ability lands"

Don't let it land. That's her weakness. She's just a lame melee champ otherwise.

she'S all in and horribly item dpendent, if she ever falls behind, she does nothing at all. and if she doesn't land that Q on the backline in a teamfight, she really got problems. She also lacks escapes and mostly needs to get in melee distance for cs, especially early on, which makes it easy to gank her or atleast harras her. If she needs her shield to avoid harras and Q to farm ranged minions, she will drop low on mana rather quick and no longer be an all-in threat.

Can't you say that practically every champ is item dependent, Adcs who don't have IE, or BT by 20 min would do 0 damage for practically 15 extra mins if they can last that long. Anyone is item dependent, it's just when they hit their power spike differs between champions

ehhhh to a certain extent there are champs with high enough base damages to get by till they get items later on, also there is vel's passive where it makes it pretty easy to not build much damage and still have good damage(not sayings its op or great or anything just decent)

a champion like lulu always offers enough utillity to have alot impact in fights without much gear, A malph always has the potential of a devastating ult, a maoe is pretty fine with just some tankgear that isn't that expensive. Diana however needs tankiness+damage from items to do her job in a fight, as she neither has enough base damage to burst a squishy nor utillity to make up for it. if she goes in and doesn't kill one with Q+w+r+r, she won't do much more for the rest of the fight if you focus her down.

Sure if her q+w+r+r doesn't kill anyone she becomes useless basically and dies, but can't you say that for any melee assassins with a few exceptions like zed, if they blow all their cd's and don't come out with one kill, they're dead the moment they get focused. That's why assassins will have to wait for the right moment to jump in.

If you're saying she needs tankiness + damage in order for her to do her part in a fight, I take it you're one of the people that build's nashor's tooth on her.

Get her a lich bane and a zhonyas or abyssel scepter, play like a jax in lane, aa a minion twice, q an enemy, if it hits, r + aa you've dealt quite an amount of damage.

If you're going to talk about teamfights, like I said you gotta wait for the right moment so until then you'd just keep spamming your q, Her aoe is decent when it comes to poking and does quite the amount of damage. If you decide to go in, open up with r, e before w, if you managed to get a lot of people to pull in, your e will deal decent aoe to everybody, but the person you targeted with your r, you got yourself a powerful aa with lich bane, if they start focusing you zhonyas. If you ever manage to proc your passive during this fight (Like doing the aa tactic on minions) you'll deal quite an extra amount of aoe.

Her innate tankiness

Pretty much every melee fighter/mage has some kind of defensive ability. They have to, because they are traditionally an All-In Champion or at least need a way to survive. Riven has her shield, Vi has her shield, Yi has damage reduction/health regen, etc. Diana's is not even out of line for that kind of ability. Diana has max 200 hp +.6 AP shield, on a 10 second cooldown. Riven has a 210 + 1.0 bonus AD shield on a 6 second cooldown.

is absolutely ridiculous it seems like, she basically has 100%-0% capabilities in 2 hits

lolwut. Her highest AP ratio is only .7, even if she lands her QRR combo, (which is 3 hits) that's a total of 640 + 1.9 AP. If Akali QRR's you, you take 760 + 2.9 AP (if she procs Q) and Diana typically doesn't build glass cannon AP like Akali can.

has great unlimited gap closing as long as her ability lands,

Unlimited.. You mean.. twice? If she Q>R>Rs she can gap close twice but then it goes on CD. That's not exactly unlimited. Plus when she Ults someone, it removes the Q mark from everyone else, so she can't just dash around like Yasuo or something.

and snowballs like a freaking madman. Is this all?

She does snowball. So you got one thing right.
