I've tried 4 different roles buncha different specs and have waited over 10 minutes in each and still no team pop.

People don't play teambuilder because of very high queue times. Very high queue times cause less people to play.

Its a negative input feedback loop. Vicious cycle.

Also the longer you wait in a queue (I know this happens in normal queue, pretty sure it still happens in teambuilder), the more diverse the matchmaking tries to be; i.e. the more you wait the more your teammates / allies mmr will be varied. In this sense, 10 minutes in each role isn't particularly fast, because each time you restart, the system has a very narrow margin of ally and enemy mmr to look for. TL;DR: 40 minutes in one role is better than 10 minutes in each role.

Supports don't play Teambuilder because they can't pick the support that's best for their ADC/Team. They are forced to either go with a worse bot lane or to bounce lobby to lobby, a problem which doesn't exist in the other queues.

I dunno, I personally like playing support in teambuilder- Always get a full lobby within a couple seconds, and if there's an adc that doesn't jive with me I can find a new lobby in a couple seconds.

Have you tried support? Because you will find a match in seconds.

Ha, this is one of my main reasons for playing support. So easy to find a match, and everyone's so happy to see you!

Usually what I see is that people are impatient and can only wait for 2 minutes max before they're bored enough to leave, complaining about how no one stays in the lobby before they go as well.

There's also the matter of when you queue and what you queue as. If you want to go something like Syndra top early in the morning, there are still a bunch of us who are asleep, and of the few that are awake, how many do you think would approve of Syndra top?

Edit: I only see the wait time as a minor inconvenience though. I would rather wait 20 mins to get into a game with the role and character I want than go back to blind pick hell where toxic CoD ragers autolock Shaco and Yi and feed for the entire game intentionally or just because they suck, I really can't tell.

Being comfortable with your team also plays a part in why I would rather wait, and my winrate has reflected that. The last time I checked, it was something like 441-341. I won't go back to blind unless I'm forced. I wish more people would play TB, but I'm satisfied playing other games during the queue time.

I play team builder all the time and the longest wait I've ever had (Assassin Mid is my preferred role) is about four minutes; then if I am unlucky and team doesn't have a support maybe another three. Usually once a full team locks in its only a few seconds until the match launches. It might be a time of day thing (I play late evening usually).

I have had some brutal waits for support of for matches to start, but those are few and far between.

I never notice the que times. My problem with team builder is the match making BS.

Why is my silver --> gold team fighting plat --> diamonds?

Take a bit, people don't like the wait, so would rather just jump straight into a game.

It's worse in high MMR team builder. Not sure what my team builder MMR is but I get diamond/master/challenger players in most of my games and I've played with a lot of the same people 5-10+ times. 10 minutes or less is a speedy queue for me, a lot of the times I wait 15-30 minutes. High MMR team builder probably has the longest queue times of any game mode due to few players. I wish more people played team builder, maybe if it gave like +10% IP or something to promote it, but I guess draft would be considered the main normals game mode.

I've noticed the same 20 people last 2 nights on both teams. And even when we click the find match button it takes over 3 minutes to find enemies :/

maybe your mmr is so damn low that nobody in league of legends can be matched with you because of your low ass mmr. Maybe?

Actually this guy's a bit above average- Gold S4 and rising through Silver 1. Check your facts before insulting someone, especially when you're right at average.

Ive played every role, most ive waited 5 min

The queue is long and I'd rather just jump into a match instead of waiting, it was a good run. But it isn't so popular now.

I duo with my ADC player and we usually get a game in a minute. It's usually just finding a support that takes a while if you're not the one playing it. Jungle can take time too, but that seems to have gotten a lot better lately. Mid / Top are dime a dozen.

In addition to the vicious cycle AlcatrazEscapee mentioned, it's also the "worst" mode from a gameplay perspective. Yes you're guarantied to play the role and champ you want, but it's not ranked, so there's no higher reward. There's no bans like draft, so you lose that level of strategy, in addition to counterpicking. and since everyone picks champs and not just roles, even blind pick lets you co-ordinate good synergies in champ select that you can't do in TB, I know I'd change to Leona if I ever got matched with graves, or to Wukong if a Yasuo was on the team, but you don't get that option.

Plus so many people just use it as a meta screening tool.

I usually get a match within 3-5 seconds for anything besides mid lane.

depends on what champion you are playing

BBQnFootMa55age1 votes

In my experience, it really depends on what role your playing and who your playing as, I've picked/played the champions popular in meta right now and wait maybe 5 minutes at most, ( champs like graves, jinx, corki, thresh, lee sin, maokai etc) but when I or my friends pick or play, champions like Twisted Fate, Viktor, Annie Mid, Brand support or mid, Urgot in any lane) we end up waiting upwards of 20-30 minutes for a lobby, if your playing support or jng role your usually in a match in minutes, but mid top and adc are extremely popular, and with no incentive for players to fill the more I played roles wait times just get worse and worse, the only time I did have to wait in a support Whe was when do sons and bard came out. :/

I get into a team in like 15 seconds or less virtually every time. Just gotta be level 30 and play support every time.
