What Wukong Needs Now
So as of right now, Duskblade is seeing heavy nerfs (cool), and some of its most reliant users are seeing compensation "buffs".
One user in particular, is very heavily reliant on this item.
. However, in return for these very heavy Duskblade nerfs, Riot has been so kind as to give Wu a buff (The first one in ages!).
Wukong AD per level increased from 3.2 to 4
ERMGAWWWWD. At level 18, that's 14 AD!!! Now Wukong has been fairing at a good 50-51% or so win rate on the extremely low player base he has, but where did that win rate come from? Was it the double duskblade procs? Hell, it may very well have been! So we trounce out DB and make the damage significantly less, and in return, we let the monkey scale just a touch harder up to 18.
I know we aren't trying to put him right back where DB had him, since that's the point of nerfing the item. But this buff comes nowhere close. So with that said, I'm here to propose some ideas for Wukong!
Q: This was nerfed from 30% armor reduction across all ranks to 15% scaling some time ago. With as many tanks as we see top lane, would it be too game breaking to bring this back? Or perhaps, a partial revert of this nerf?
Passive: There have been a lot of ideas for a change to this on Reddit, but I understand these compensation buffs are just minor number tweaks. I don't think this will be the time for work on his passive, will just have to stick with this horrible one we have for now.
R: The base damage on this is ridiculously low at level 6. Maybe smooth things out so he has some power in his ult level 6 top lane?
QWE: Wukong has really high mana costs and no efficient mana items to build. What about reducing some of his mana costs? We have no sustain or poke, and rely on short burst trades... but his mana costs kill the ability for him to trade through the high tankiness and sustain we see in top lane today. A little tweaking on the numbers here to allow him to trade more often would go a long ways.
EQ: Put the Armor Reduction % on E, put some form of sustain on Q. This would actually put some good synergy in his kit. Hitting 3 champs with E for armor reduction, then ulting w/ cleaver.... prob too much (Yeah that's too much).
