i play her mid vrs assassins as her shield can deny a lot of their burst and post 6 she has a lot of kill potential and roaming herself. for jungle i play her when our mid picks either an ad or a manaless ap like akali and kat so i can keep the blue buff and i dont think i'll need to gank much pre-6.

mm, i will try her once more.. just to give my view some current validation. ive been so disappointed the last couple times i tried her playing her. and she stands Zero chance against me.. atleast in a 1v1 typically with any champ i use.

i mostly use her as a counter pick rather then a blind pick when it comes to mid lane. she does well against fizz and kat, and decent against zed, akali, leblanc and ahri. as a mid laner though she's pretty mana hungry if you are forced to farm with q against someone with range, so i'd make sure and ask for blue as often as possible.

usually Akali will do the job better.

it wasnt always that way.^ until Riot chose akali over diana and kat over diana in that vicious feud.

Not really she isnt the best and she is mediocore in most aspects. She just has jsut enough in areas to hobble to gather into a champion. If i wanted a weak knockup/pull I would use oriana. If i wanted a kit with a shield that also had a weak knockup/pull i would use oriana. If i wanted to use a kit that also let me get close faster to that knocked up champion i would use oriana. Use her spd buff/debuff after ult will get u right to them.

Basically diana is a glorified support labeled a fighter mage. Its weird. But over all i think oriana is probably better in all aspects when it comes to dianas kit. Also orianas passive on her E makes her a super tanky champion with no effort. And to go off of diana being an assasin counter pick. Oriana has a massive defence buff compared to diana making her hard to burst down in one try.

Thats a pretty incredible comparison that Ive failed to see, Oriana is a clear example of diana being obsolete. Not to mention your input. Much appreciated.

I will general play her against any melee champion in lane, since her shield is strong enough that she would win most trades with them. Other than that I also play her against mobile champions, or at least champions with a blinking skill of sorts (Ziggs or Ezreal for example), since you can use R twice to catch up to them if they try to escape your engage post-6. I only particularly have problems mid lane against champions with huge range like Lux or champions that can outsustain me like Gragas or Vladimir.

If I wanted to play her I'd pick her.

She's not a bad champion at all.

She's a good counterpick to Leona top.

There isn't a time in serious play where Diana is a good pick though. Mostly just pick for funs.

I've actually been playing her a lot in the new jungle. Taking an extra point or two in her shield before fully maxing the Q makes her able to stay in the jungle way longer than a lot of other champions without any sort of a heal to speak of. All it means is that my early ganks don't have as much of a chance of getting two Qs in, but if I do the gank right I shouldn't even need to.
