How to counter Sion support?

I asked myself this and my thoughts were, "nothing truly counters him" because of his resilience in lane. I'm thinking Zyra because of her zoning potential but that's betting on early game and early game alone. Janna might be good but she's not aggressive enough and instead of getting towers my team will just go buy items. Would Sona, Leona, or Karma be good in this matchup? Because two have a way of cancelling his Q, and two others protect from his E damage, Karma can even capitalize on the fact Sion is busy rooting himself and Karma can root him or the adc. Though I could be wrong, thoughts? Yes I did try Trundle support, it can work but requires perfect E's and i'm not perfect by a longshot (b4 but climbing+learning)

I find Taric works well because you can bind to the person he is trying to ult and E just as he hits. The stun prevents him from comboing his Q. In lane they both sit around cancelling each other out so long as Taric doesn't walk too close to any unwarded bushes.

zyra kind of counters him i guess, but he can E the plants away. Try someone with a silence, or even leona can cancel a lot of his CC because of her relatively short CD's that match with his

if they wanna go sion support... just be sure you can dodge his ult some how in lane.. he will use it anytime you leave the adc alone ... and find some way to cc his passive if he dies to keep him from getting free kills .

i have beat him using bard, janna, sona, leona, naut.

taric can be good cuz of his ult use it anytime sion uses his ult to engage so your team legit takes no damage from it

As a Sion support main on TW servers I can assure you there are counters to Sion.

Just to name the match ups that I truly hate. Leona and Fiddlesticks just cause they can basically guarantee you'll never the stun portion of the Q off, they'll CC you or silence you pretty much all the time, unless they aren't used to the match up.
